Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | What I did with my 1976 CA, is bought dunlop strap locks, the dual purpose kind. I had to file down the original screws to get it to fit the new strap locks.
For my, 2004 CVT MEWP, I bought the same strap locks, and they fit perfectly. Though the way I use the strap I only needed to install the one on the upper bout. |

Location: Upper Left USA | What AN4340 says is what I did as well. stick the original screw in a hand drill and skim it down. All of mine have the Dunlop straplock system.
The only trouble I've had is if the part on the strap is too loose and the parts vibrate. You then have to add thickness.
On the BW and Viper I had to use 7/16" washers in lieu of the ring hardware due to the close tolerance. |

Location: NJ | When I first decided to go with StrapLocks, I bought up about a half dozen sets . . .
I later found out that two of the sets weren't the "dual purpose" post, but just a skinny, concave brass post that the StrapLock snaps into.
Didn't really WANT these, but by the time I'd discovered my mistake, the receipt was gone and I was stuck with them (besides, I mainly wanted 'em for the "strap end" of the deal . . ) So the posts ended up in one of my little compartmentalized "parts boxes".
Last Halloween, when I was putting up the hand-rubbed red oak guitar hanger on my music room wall, I noticed the posts rattling around in the box as I was fishing for yet another screw . . .
I ended up mounting the posts to the board between the guitar hangers. Since guitar straps with StrapLocks installed dont have "holes" in 'em anymore, it makes for a convenient way to hang up the straps, keep 'em out of the way, yet there always readily accessible.
. . . I'll post a pic of it wunna these daze . . |
