HI,

I JUST ACQUIRED THE OVATION ELITE 1778T-PF (PURPLE FLAME). I FOUND NO INFORMATION ON THIS SPECIFIC MODEL IN ANY OF THE WEBSITES OR OVATION CATALOGS.

OVATION'S SALES DIRECTOR WROTE ME THAT THIS MODEL WAS A VERY LIMITED PRODUCTION AND SUGGESTED I ASK THE LOCAL DEALER BUT I DOUBT HE WILL HAVE MORE INFO.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE SEND ME OR REFER ME TO INFORMAITON ON THISVERY SPECIFIC MODEL? I AM REFERRING TO THE PURPLE FLAME MODEL. ALSO, DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW MANY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED AND WHEN?

BTW - THE SOUND IS FABULOUS (WHICH IS WHY I BOUGHT IT WHEN I SAW IT IN A STORE IN SWITZERLAND) DURING A BUSINESS TRIP OVER THERE.

THANKS,

HADAR

Hi Hadar:
Sorry I cant't offer you any info on this guitar but I'm very interested in knowing if you have any problems with your glossy guitar slipping off your lap while playing. I'm hoping to buy the red flame version of your guitar but wanted your opinion on this before laying down any cash. By the way, would love to see a picture of your guitar. Please post one if you can. I'm sure others would love to see one as well.
Thanks.

Hi,

In fact I found the PF to be a little slippery but not in any intefering way.. It is managable without any special effort. I beleive the slippery effect is more due to the rounded figure then due to the glossy color.

Solomon,
On the Ovation Website there is the Red Flame elite T. The one you have is like that, only different in Color. Instead of The Bowlpain Finish used The use The Custom Paint job used on Motorcycle Gas Tanks. Functionally it's teh Elite T model. Just a different Finish, I also believe that these newer models have the LX upgrade and truss rod adjustment. Hope this little bit of info helps.

Thanks Steve,

I'll take a look at the website again. However, I think it is different from the standard Elite models since, for example, it has the PRO equlizer, the one with the digital display, and not the one shown with the Elite-1778T models.

How can I know when my model was manufactured and whether it incorporates the LX features? Doesn't Ovation publicize this?

Regards,

Hadar

Well, I'm not sure about the websites update on LX technology. But the Flame models we saw that were being manufactured at the Factory during our Tour lastyear had the New OP-Pro preamp in it. Not the version put on the other T models. If your model sports a truss Rod Cover onteh peghead it should be an LX if it doesn't then my guess is it has the K-Bar like previous models, those were the models with the op30 pre-amps. so if your has the new pre-amp and a truss-rod cover then you have a LX model.

Dear Steve,

Thanks a lot. I definetly have the Pro Equlizer and there is a cover on the top of the neck although I don't know if it's the type of cover which you are referring to.

Best regards,

Hadar
