I would like to buy an Elite 1778T-RF. However, I'm concerned about 2 things:

1) Does this guitar have good sound quality? The reason I'm concerned about this is I felt all the paint might take away from the acoustics by preventing it from vibrating properly.

2) With it's gloss smooth finish, will this guitar slip off my leg when I sit and play?
I'd hate to have my beautiful O Crash on the floor.

Any educated responses would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Jim

I was in a shop last week and went to "the back room" where they have the upper end guitars and was surprized to see an Ovation in there. Anyway a guy was playing one of the flame Ovations and it sounded fantastic. I didn't get a chance to play it but it was way good from where I stood.

Thanks Fly Guy: Hey, by the way, how do you like your AD Custom Legend?

the sound is very good. if you like the elite t you will like the rf.
the paint on the back may make it a tad more slippery but nothing an O fan cannot handle.
I have one in stock. (shameless plug)

In the recent issue of Guitar Player you can see a picture of Dimebag DArrel, with the only acoustic axe he apparently used: A flame top ovation!

One thing to note about these T series, is that you can actually hear and judge the sound better, when sitting across from someone playing it. Al least that's what I found. Perhaps that's why it sounded so good when you were at the store listening to someone playing it.

The DeMeola is absolutly the bomb! Looks, sound, feel, everything! It's got the whole package. I just wish I could make it sound like I know it can!
