For a Deacon 12 string project - if original pick ups are not used - what would be your choices?

Would like to be able to play more rythym with a clean sound sent through effects. Now building the pick guard and have not cut the Pup holes.

Would appreciate your input!

the duncan phatcats are what Hamer uses and I like them alot. if you want to cheap it out find a pair of the old bill lawrence xl 100 blade pickups I love those humbuckers and they are cheap plus you don't have to worry about the pole pieces lining up

One of the first things I did was to check on what the Hamer Newport was wearing. Found them in several places for about $80 each – new!

For controls – Is there a passive/active controls board or set out there? What controls would be preferred?

My train of thought is to go with the Phat Cat set up exactly as the Hamer Newport. With a Deacon body, NOS neck and tuners it should qualify as a prototype of the 2006 Deacon 12 re-issue, eh?

It's fun to have toys!

Thanks Sugga Smit!

It may never warrant a certificate of Frigginauthenticity but it's nice to have something waiting on the workbench when you get home. We're waiting for the rain to turn to snow again up here. So much to do!
