I remember him and Jerry Reed playing matching classicals that had wood binding around the body. I don't think you'll be able to pin down one specific guitar. As to the strings, it was whatever was being used back then. Remember, this was 35 years ago.

But generally, he played his signature model six and 12-strings, various Classicals and a Country Artist towards the end of the series run. He also played various Storm Series electrics, but the one most associated with him in those days was a natural finish Thunderhead. Hope this helps a little... Jeff

He played variatons of stock offerings, even if it was just initialed inlays or wood binding. He had some first-of/one-of guitars like the first Adamas, the first 1537 Elite and the first GC. As for the nylon strings, he was still playing the Baldwin pickup equipped examples at least into the late '70's. O'Mike, I know this hasn't helped at all and like Paul and Jeff pointed out, he ended the show with a number of different Ovations over the years. :) Wayne

He continued this into the Goodtime Hour, but by about the end of the first season or the second, went to "Pave Your Way...".

O'Mike - "Natural To Be Gone" was recorded by Hartford on his "Love Album" LP. It's also on an Aussie import greatest hits CD collection. Shoot me your email address and I'll send you an MP3 of it. I don't think Glen ever recorded it, but others here will know for sure.
