Hi,
I remember reading here about an Ovation serial # that was based on day of year built rather then s/n that was part of a sequential number system. Without search feature, I can't track it down.
So my question is what does this serial number mean? (if anything, seller could be wrong I suppose) s/n 102896083
thanks, mike

Manufactured at 1028 in the morning, year 1996, 83rd day of the year. Just a WAG.

This system worked fine up until the Y2K/CWKII Virus threat arrived on scene. Then it was replaced with the "Use the next number after the !$&@# symbol and corresponding ampersand" system. Lastly they were replaced with octane ratings.

Good morning Bill. Is it snowy outside or alligators today?

Most hard to read numbers I have read or heard of are ones that were misread in the first place.

Prototypes only have a 6 digit number 012805 would be today. They probably don't do this anymore.
