There's now a second 87 Collectors on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33029&item=3780097975&rd=1 This is a tough time to be saving for the OFC guitar.

It's an Elite cutaway with the best wood on the top, an ebony fingerboard, abalone around the fingerboard and body, and abalone inlays on the fretboard. It has more bass than my 1537 because it doesn't have soundholes on the treble side.

I managed to read the first page but then it all froze up on me and I had to go drink beer for an hour or two before I could get back in. I'm not complaining you understand. I read enough to know I can't afford one - it would be nice to have a sticker to slap on the headstock though.........

There is a zero feedback bidder on #598 that has rasied the bid within seconds of my bid. This has happened several times. I guess they will be sitting at the computer for the next 4 days to bump up the bids. Don't you know it drives the owner of the other '87 collectors crazy because his is in the $500 range and the other one is over $1100 ;) Either way, I am done.

(1)auction ended without bid (no taker for $579) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33029&item=3765733473&rd=1 (2) relisted & ended early at $449 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3766627354 i recall some forum member bought one for around $400-450 1-2 yrs ago (i turned down the offer from the seller) & repainted the top from natural to sunburst.
