I've got an Elite guitar that has a small piece of one of the leaf epaulets that has chipped off. Is there somewhere that I can get just the leaf decoration thing. I'm thinking that I can cut a small piece off and glue it in. I'm not looking for perfection and hoping I can do it myself. OR, is this a job for the mothership? I've got some other cosmetic stuff with this guitar that they could take care of as well, but I'm just not sure how much I want to pay. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, my Elite has some rubbing in that area, an "ear" broken off the headstock, and a place rubbed through on top. Anyone with experience on cosmetic repairs via themslves or "mothership" repair costs probably could help a lot of us.

Another Elite I looked at had a 2 inch long scrape all the way through the finish, but other than that was perfect at $250. If I knew it could be fixed cheap, or refinished even to natural, I'd snap it up. But hidden costs have bit me before.

Owners can usually get away with a dab of Superglue here and there, a little buffing in other spots and minor repairs.

For anything deeper and especially for cosmetic repairs, the Factory is the right answer. Theyhave the parts, equipment and technique to fix things.

I do have a 1624 with a "gouge" in the lower top section. I filled it with two part epoxy and sanded level and buffed. It is an apparent repair at 4 feet away but any further and it is not noticeable. It allows me to have a nice sounding/playing Country Artist at an affordable price!

I'd send it to the Mothership. They's do it right and you'll be very happy with the results.
