So many singers seem to lose a step when they get older. Joni's voice just gets richer and better. I have checked out other performances from this tribute concert, and am amazed at how much better one of the best has gotten.

I've always wondered why, in the motion picture "Alice's Restaurant," the Joni Mitchell tune, "Songs to Aging Children" was sung by Tigger Outlaw instead of by JM.

Still a delight to listen to - I have always been a big fan. Her voice is a beautiful instrument with a rich timbre.

Exactly. The timbre in her voice is incredible. I've listened to some of her earlier recordings of 'both sides now'. This one is a far better musical interpretation, and the orchestral arrangment is a perfect match. I wonder if she arranged it herself. Completely different than the early guitar method she used.

Wow... Joni's voice is still golden and she looks fabulous. She carries the title of Musical Legend so well. Gotta disagree with the arrengement, though. That felt like trying to drive with the parking brake on.

Should have a poll to see if smoking helps the tone and depth of some of these singers eg Nat King Cole

She's singing it down maybe a third from her original recordings, and I agree that the arrangement drags a bit, but the lyrics are more meaningful after all these years. Thanks for finding it, Randy.
