An Ovation would be good for their souls.
They currently play a Taylor and a Martin. |

I'm proud to say that a good number of my members play Ovations. The Celebrity guitars count, right? |

Location: Monroe, Ohio (Cincinnati) | I am leader of a Praise band for our prayer group. Since we are Catholic, we are somewhat perceived as too far outside the mainstream by many and are not asked to play music for our regularly scheduled masses.
This is a good thing, however, since we are more than busy enough providing P&W for our regularly scheduled prayer group meetings and are also asked to play quite often for conferences and retreats outside of our church. We do continue to step by step gain acceptance and look forward to the day when the rest of the parish, and the church, catches up to us.
I play straight man acoustic guitar for the more talented musicians in our group, however they do let me lead most of the singing.
We are trying to increase our number of Worship leaders, so there are 4 of us currently being developed in this role, myself and 3 ladies. |

I just thought of something. A number of years ago I played bass in a band and owned a Martin. I wouldn't have played guitar for anything. I was loving the bass. Since I switched to bass now, and I own an Ovation, I really miss playing guitar. Hmmm.

Always strikes me that god believers are very open and public about it, but Atheists tend to lurk in the background and are somewhat secret about their (lack of) beliefs. No reason to be. Everyone "worships" something, whether it is guitars, a god, many gods or the choice of no god. The two most important choices you CAN make are who is your God and who are your Friends.
Thank you my Friends. |

Good stage presence also. The DT haircut turned me off a little, but you gotta look past those things. Dave |

Anytime "religion" is being done for TV ("on demand"), I'm concerned about the underlying motives.
Okay, I'll get down off my soapbox now...if Paul B. would care to respond, I'm listening (I know Paul has much mroe experience with seeing God's work of healing in the church than I have...) |

I agree. Do I believe that God does miracles and answers the prayers of His people? Yes, every day. I have seen Him work in ways that are ... well ... miraculous. God works on His schedule though, and for His purposes and glory -- not simply when someone decides it is time to whip up a bunch of miracles and healings to make good TV - and big donations ... |

I find the answer to the problems of Christian television (or so-called Christian Evangelists) to be extremely simple: STUDY THE WORD OF GOD FOR YOURSELF! If those who profess to believe actually educate themselves on what God has said then the scammers that are on TV will loose their financial support and they will fade away. It's not the wolves in sheep’s clothing that bothers me; it's those who blindly follow them. |

Wasn't sure I could add anything to the above but I'll try.
1. I have seen God work out some pretty amazing things through music that is offered up to Him in praise. He truly inhabits the praises of His people.
2. This have NOTHING to do with the style rather more with the musician's intent.
3. I've never found a box big enough to put God in. So I never tried to presume He would always pop up when I wanted Him to. He usually
comes when invited not demanded.
Hope this hasen't caused this thread to wander off course. I want to thank MWoody for taking the time to start this poll. The more we get to know about each other we will focus on our similarities, Not our differences. |

What is this "Recut" version they have been advertising? Anybody heard what is supposed to be different? I'm not sure, but have heard they were coming out with a version that was slightly less graphic to enable it to be seen by a younger audience. I have not seen it, so I'm not sure just how much would need to be toned down. I'm sure the original still falls short of what actually happened. |
