Location: Portland OR | Can anyone please help me find out specs (year made, materials, etc.) for an Ovation Model 1111 Serial #209937. This number range doesn't exist at the main Ovation site and I've been going nuts trying to find any info on the web. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Location: boulder | Hi and welcome,
Well isn't it obvious, your guitar doesn't exist. No, just joking. I saw the gap in the serial number list. I would guess yours falls in there around 1979-80, but I have no idea of why there is a s/n gap.
I would also guess the specs are the same as the model #1111 in the discontinued archives of the Ovation website. Hopefully, more knowledgeable folks can give you the whole story. peace mike |

Always good to see more people from the upper left!
You have a Balladeer, if its a Tabacco Burst its a 1111-1 and if its a natural its a 1111-4. Should have a silver label inside, MOP dots on an Ebony fretboard, not bound.
Factory records of Serial numbers had gaps!
In 1980 it listed for $490.
If you hold your nose to the soundhole you will smell Binary resin.
Here's a link to what Ovation says:
Balladeer
Post some pictures and hang around for a while!

Location: Portland OR | Ah, the N.W. connection comes through. It is tobacco burst yet serial number is just 1111 (no dash's). Silver label inside and MOP on fretboard. Is it really possible it's that old? I picked it up at a pawnshop for $195 w/ hard case and it's immaculate! Looks like it's never been played..
Thanks bro !! |
