Managed to get out this last Saturday and do some guitar stuff shopping. I have given up on my two nearest stores, which are either out of stock or selling low end stuff. Went to Tacoma and perused Ted Brown where I plugged in a Hamer Newport 12 for a while. Took a look at the "New" 1996 collector's for $1900 (small ding on top).

Went over to GC and had a run around in the Coostic Room.

Had to play one of the Cedar topped Balladeers so I could tune up a Doubleneck! They are fun, no doubt about it. Sound good too.

Then I took down the Red Flame T and enjoyed that one for a while.

On Mom-and-Pops: I would love to support them but if I want to get Dunlop Straplocs in a certian color, Tree swings in the Wood tone, EXPs for a 12 string (this what I was hunting for) I either have to go online or go the Guitar Center!

They did put a door on the Coostical room as well!

Hi Woody,

I agree. I support the smaller Mom & Pop stores when I can. Unfortunatly the inventory on the top lines is very limited. Guitars, strings accessories etc. Many top lines require the dealers carry a large dollar amount in their inventory. These smaller shops simply cannot afford to compete wil the larger chain type stores. I know when I go into the smaller stores they actually Know me. The larger stores you're just another pretty face with money. Our loss.

some of the folks at my local GC are starting to recognize me... not sure if that's good or bad...
