Since this 12 fret Adamas has been mentioned in several threads lately and I assume it will be released sometime during this month, I was just curious how many of our members already have one on order or plan to buy one. Remember, it is limited to a run of 100 so they may not be around for a very long time.

I have ordered mine from Al and can't wait! :D

Who else is on the list or plans to be?

I would like to be, but I'm thinkin it's outa my league right now. I love slot heads!! I Paid a grand for my 1763 11 years ago. I gues with infaltion, it would be about the same. I'm just not sure how much I would like it. I should've gone to NAMM (I simply did not know it existed).

Well,

to be really honest, I screwed up when I origianlly registered, and typed in "mtbnikerfred" when I meant "mtnbikerfred", So Miles changed it in my profile, and now, I have to use the old one to login, but it lets me into my profile, lets me post and everything works. but I'm like the walking dead.. not really here or there....

TONY!

I was just about to email you and ask if you had decided to jump on board or not. Guess your post answers that question.

You and Dave have got to own some of the best collections of acoustic O's in the country.

Stephen, thanks...

May be releasing a couple to make room (Adamas II, slothead CL 12-str, Adamas II 12-str, etc.)

Maybe

I know exactly what you mean. ;)

But I keep telling myself that after a guitar has been stored for 3-4 months, and I crack open the case and put it back in the rotation, it is like having another new guitar. So fresh, so much fun to play, so nice to hear. It is like having a birthday or christmas present all over again.

However, if they don't come out to play for a year or so and I don't miss them or think about them, then it is time to pass them on to someone who will appreciate what they have to offer.

T28, thanks for the compliment but NOT EVEN CLOSE !!!

Lurk around Kim's basement sometime, Sam's closets, the mountain top, some SW consultants office out in Walnut, Miles electronics warehouse, Al's living room, the Japan super Adamas collectors, etc. Any many other places. There are some amazing collections out there. I'm just thankful that I know some of these people and get to enjoy their instruments and that I have a few of my own to keep me happy. Don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of my guitars.

I think a wide neck version of the 12-fret slothead would be a great guitar. Sort of like an Adamas version of the FD14. Dave

The new 12-fret Adamas has got to be the coolest Ovation I have seen yet. That guitar must sound incredible. Way to go Ovation!

Wouldn't a 12 fret neck have less acoustic volume than a 14fret?

Due to the shorter scale length, would the 12 fret be more tonally accurate? With less sustain?

Never played a 12fret guitar

The widely held belief from classicals to Martins to whatever is that they just sound better. I am unconvinced. Some do (Martins in my opinion) some don't (loads of expensive Martin copies). Ya pays ya money.......

On the 12 fret the Bridge is in the "sweet" spot, same as with the Baritone/Longnecks.

So why aren't there any Baritone Adamas I's?

All the beef and more fretboard!

Baritone Adamas. THAT would be interesting.

Is there such a thing as a Baritone 12 String?

For the relative "newbie" (less than 6 months) run a search on Baritone 12 and member 2043, you can see me crying in my beer!

But those were Adamas II by classification.

I'm asking the same sorta question on another post.
I searched everywhere I can think of, and no soap. I am sure that some one here knows all the actual specs.

I forgot to ask Al when speaking to him earlier today....

I played it at NAMM and the scale felt like standard 25.4 but who knows. It felt "normal" for an Ovation. Nut was definately 1-11/16. Dave
