hey quick fire round here from ur friend in england:>>

do you ovationeers ( seee what i did there!)prefer natural colour guitars or non-natural colour guitars.

my preference is natural

now clearly colour makes no real difference so try and answer it as if you were ordering a custom made ovation and the guy on the phone said: hey dude what do you want it to look like? blue or something?

tell me wqhat you think!

I really like the honey-burst and autumn burst. But my two acoustics are both natural. Go figure.

I saw a sunburst Elite LX last night, absolutely beautiful. I also really like the Burgandy Legend LX and the black balladeer.

I have a cobalt blue Adamas CVT that gets smudged if you so much as talk dirty to it. I love the guitar, but she's a messy little thing. Should have been sold with a bottle of Windex and a roll of paper towels. Natural guitars stay cleaner (at least you dont see the smudges) but that's kind of boring dont you think?

Given a choice, I would not choose natural.

my guitars:
1617 sunburst
1613 natural
cv 68 black
UK II black
Tele red

Actually, I had no choice on any of the above.

Full enhancement of the wood grain is a must. The Vintage or Nutmeg is very nice. The silk in the AAA Spruce on my 1778LX is absolutely Fabulous!

Put me down for Artificially Natural!

I always thought that my favorite was natural, especially if the wood is figured like watefall, bearclaw, birdseye, etc. BUT I just LOVE the look of my 6778LX in NEB. It has two claw marks bookmatched on either side of the lower bout. Just beautiful. Of course, the tuxedo black textured look (ie, no fingerprints) of my 1778T with a set of dark phosphor bronze Markley Alchemys is pretty cool too! :D

I dunno why, I seem to like the non-natural finishes. My main "O" is a Legend 1867 with a Blus Sparkel finish. Just happeneind to be the one that was in the store.

My vote is with -4 for most ovations... however my Fender Newporter has a wonderful mahogany finish that I do favor.

AVJ,
Here's your chance! I was born in Brockton MA and lived for a while in Quincy. Go Bruins! When I came out West in the middle of 8th grade they taught me that the letter "R" is not a vowel.

I also had a 1615 Pacemaker for a while. Loved it! No doubt I will pick another up whenthe time is right.

Where do you play?

Say it with me.... BRAAHHK-TIN. I am an Eastie resident living lterally right behind Santarpios with a prime view of Logan. Ya... I know...scenic!

For my first Ovation 12 string, I love my 1115. I didn't really look for a 1615, don't think I would ever really need to plug in a 12, although I am sure it sounds sweet.

Since you no longer have the 1615, have you come across any 12 string ovations that are noteworthy? I haven't had much luck in being able to play a few differnt 12 string O's.

Go Sox and Pats... to bad about Andrusi leaving. :(

"have you come across any 12 string ovations that are noteworthy?"

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!

After the 1615 I received a Custom Legend 12 from Johnny Purple/Strumming12 - lusciouos!

This I sold to obtain an Adamas 1598 which I am attempting to grow into. Save your milk-money in case one of six Baritone 12 string Adamas II's come out of hiding!

Any model that combines the terms "LX" and "12 string" is a no brainer as well.

Hit the Lotto and I can ask for a Slotheaded, textured top, CNS Necked, New bowl, Baritone 12 with an OP Pro and a GPS/Ipod!

NEB is a sweet color.

I always wanted a blue o with a darker blue burst on the edge.

Ray Davies has one....I love it.

I have never seen a USA O in blue. I tried a brand new Adamas that was dirt cheap but didn't float my boat but had it been the blue top(which I have never seen in person) it would have been mine totally.

Oh, I live in Brockton. Small freekin world.

Last year Willie Nelson and Dylan played our baseball stadium 2 miles from me. Cheap tickets but those voices for 3 hours? Nope.

This year Def Leppard and Brian Adams are doing a show there. What a wacky combo that is but hey if tickets are cheap I can walk there. LOL.
