Holy Sh*t! How'd you come by that?? Must be a great story.

Sidenote: On the slotheads, the model numbers end in both 7 and 9. I'm guessing that one would designate a wide neck and one a narrow neck. Anybody know which is which?

Challoway,

Welcome, woah baby, pull a rabbit out of a hat. #45-92 means you have a big smile on your face. How long have you had this slothead ? How does it play? Hot lanta seems to hold a few gems. :)
Post more pics if you have a chance, welcome again, mike

Obviously, it's a cheap forgery. And not very well done at that. Because you've joined up here, I'll give you tree-fitty for it. ;)

Seriously...welcome to the OFC...very nice geetar...I'm with moody, what's the story?

That guitar originally came out of Ackerman's Music in Midland Park, NJ (same as mine).

Sold to a Ron Pough on 12.13.76

So . . . let's hear it . . .

Has anyone offered to invite this poor soul to the OFC gathering where maybe someone could hold his guitar while someone else goes and gets him a Beer!

You at least have some nice pics, and a sense of humor!

Can't seem to find your pic's bro'. It's easy to post in the members gallery. I just posted pics of my amp. It's got, a boost, that shoots the thing from 30 watts, to 40 so I get lots of nice distortion. It's almost too loud for me.

Thanks for the Welcomes...
I was just wanting to learn to strum some chords while I was living in N.J. back in the late '80's early '90's. The 1st guitar I bought was a Celebrity 6 string. After about 2 weeks of practicing, I felt I was ready to move up (don't ALL beginners).
Next I bought an '82 (i think) Custom Legend and boy did I sound good!!! My wife (also learning to play), declared the CL was hers, so off I go looking thru a music store in Red Bank. They had it hung up with all the other used guitars and the looks of it just reached out and grabbed me.
The Adamas had been WELL played and I think the previous owner only played open chords (since the strings had cut thru the 1st four frets, but it didn't stop me. The first chance I got I sent it back to Kaman and had it re-fretted with jumbo frets (a suggestion of a hard rock musician friend at the time). It plays beautifully when in the hands of someone who knows how to play (unfortunetly not me).
Just this morning I was searching to find a value for it since it has been sitting in its case in the corner for Way Too Long, and came across a link to this site. Glad I found y'all.

As you have casually mentioned that it may be for sale you may want to imagine the sound of several Members checking their wallets, bank accounts, or local Jewelry Stores for sales.

As a Businessman - You have a market, both Foriegn and Domestic.

As a Member of the OFC it is customary to offer a first chance option to your fellow Members. Many of the OFC brethren can be vouched for and dealings here may be considered strong handshakes!

I am not even sure why I'm posting as you are probably busy answering your many emails!

Bussiness is one thing but here you have the opportunity to make some life long friendships. I hope all goes well and welcome!

Hi,

Welcome to the club. You have 2 of the most beautiful and I'm sure best sounding guitars I've
seen since the last time I surfed through the members gallery. I'm sure if you offered either one your emails would increase like a Washington politition's salery.

Steve, naw...but I always enjoy seeing someone appreciates a fine instrument.

In dark sunburst, I have the 1619, 1669 (now slide guitar), 1658 slothead 12, and 1659 12; also the GC slothead 12.

My first Ovation was a darksuburst 1158 slothead 12, purchased new.

Hey again guys,
I've gotten so many inquiries about the Adamas that I've decided to offer it here in the SELL/TRADE section. Tomorrow after I've taken some better pics I'll get it listed. Thanks for all the interest!

Hah, if Uncle Sam hadn't knocked on my door looking for more money, this is where I would be yelling "FIRST IN LINE".....so sad, but at least it sounds like it will be staying in the family.
