Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | Hello alberic, Welcome to the board (your english is fine) the model 1763 Classic is just a newer verson of the 1613 with a cutaway and newer/better electronics. The serial # seems to put the guitar in the '89/'90 year range although it doesn't specify your # exactly. You can find specs. on both models in Ovation's archives & discontinued section http://www.ovationguitars.com/?fa=series&sid=349
As to price, post how much the seller offered it to you for and I'm sure one (or more) of us here can tell you whether it's high or low! |

As to no specified serial number, the 394790 is the serial number. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | Too high for USA, but, in Euroland may be reasonable. Maybe cheaper to buy in USA and have shipped. One way to check this is to do a search on US ebay of completed listings, then factor in how much to ship to you. Tell seller that's your max price, if he balks, screw him, there will be other guitars, I promise. Also, try a search on euro ebay for completed listings. Good luck.
Ciao! |

Location: carrara, ITALY | Hi moody!...maybe my english is not perfect (sure), but I wuold say that this serial number (394790) is not specificly indicated on the chart in the ovation's official site...I'm afraid that is a fraud!!! |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I wouldn't put too much weight on the serial number listing on our website or the Factory site. Those lists can only be used as guides. As example, we can't seem to get any straight numbers for 1973, but we know guitars were being built. The fact that this guitar is in Europe even adds more variables because there were model variations that were/are sold in Europe that are not available in the USA.
You should be able to tell if it's an Ovation or not. You might send an eMail to Customer Support and ask if there is any info on that specific serial number guitar. |

Location: SoCal | you say the 1763 is # 394790
my 1988 is # 380327
would guess the one you are looking at is 1989 to early 1990. |

I have a 1763. I used to think I payed too much for it, but after owning it for about 12 years, I would pay twice what I paid for mine!! I look for them on Ebay but I don't see very many of them. Lately, many of the Ovation classicals on Ebay are closing without sellilng. I think many people think they will get one cheap, but they are rare and worth more than people are willing to spend, so the sellers keep them.
My advice is if you like it, buy it. |

Location: carrara, ITALY | BOH!!! I could spend up to 800-1000euro(600-750$)....but if I'm sure that one is an Ovation (and not an Ovatiom) I could spend more, because I know the incredible quality of these instrument....if I'll have not an Ovation I would like to have a guitar made by a Tuscan liuther...incredible sound, "wood sound"(it seems like to play a secular oak!), but this one costs 7000$...and, believe me, in terms of intonation, dynamics and balance of the tones(?) an Ovation has nothing to fear....and 6000$ are involved(...) |
