Well my oldest son closed on his new house last Monday and is all moved away (finally ;) ) leaving me with a "extra" bedroom for my music junk & stuff!!

I'm looking to hang my guitars on two of the walls and I'm wondering if any of you guys are familiar with the type of hangers Sam's using in this picture of his music room?

(I've emailed Sam but I think his mail server is down again)

I have limited space so arranging my guitar slanted like that would give me more guitars per sq. inch :D

I'd appreciate any info or help on locating, pricing, layout, design, etc. of that type of hanger or any similar.
--------------------

Although I miss my son being "underfoot" I'm excited about getting all my musical stuff in one location (pile)

They are Hercules hangers, available from Al. I use all Hercules stands - they are the best you can buy. Dave

Hercules, the heads move so you can change the angle if you want.

I'm not sure what Sam means by 3" I'm going to have to place my hangers atleast 10" down from the ceiling so that the peghead of my Legend 12 string will clear the hanger and not slam into the roof!!

I'm probably going to "fudge" the 12" spacing between the guitars to about 10" also......haven't measured it all out yet!

I also got the hercules hangers from Al.
I made a 6 foot long decorative hardwood mounting plate for the hangers. This way I don't have to rely on hitting studs or drywall anchors.
10" down from the ceiling sounds about right.
I guess minimum spacing distance depends on the angle you set the guitars to hang at.
Tomorrow I'll start with the one on the end in the corner and work my way out.

I've got a 10' stick of poplar (going to paint it the same color as the trim) which I'm going to "overkill" onto the wall (two screws per stud and toggle bolts in between) and then I'll work out the spacing (I've got a few deep bowls and only two shallow bowls but I want the spacing to be consistent) I bought 10 hangers....

....I'll probably also screw & epoxy the hangers onto the board! :D (they don't call me Mr. Overkill for nuttin')

If you haven't bought the hangers yet, this is the cheapest I've found them.

BruDev, Just tell Al how many you want at that "worldmusicsupply price".
I'm sure Al would like the extra profit.

profit, in economics, return on capital, also called earnings, minus the costs of maintaining land, labor, and capital. It is also known as net income.

Economic theorists generally make a distinction between two types of profit: normal profit, in which the entrepreneur receives the minimal necessary amount to encourage him to open or stay in a particular business; and excess profit, that which exceeds normal profit.

Another question for the Hercules hanger owners. There are several models of this hanger. Does anyone out there know if the one that have the wood base have a long enough "neck" to allow a deep bowl guitar (Ovaiton of course) hang properly?

AFG,

The Hercules hanger with the wood base works fine with deep bowl. I bought a whole bunch of them from Al a while back.

It should work. I always like Overkill when it comes to guitars.

Tools AND Guitars. It really is a man's world.

( I'm sure that statement will draw some flak.) :D
