**NICE** looks like you did a fantastic job!
(Ovation ought to make more guitars without the epaulets!!)

Does it sound any different? :p

Nice effort Matt!

I agree about loosing some of the epaulets. A natural top with the "MOB" shaped soundholes would be cool as well.

I lost alot of volume after installing the preamp, and the coated strings dropped even more, plugged in I love it, and the strings make a big difference plugged in, I'm happy, removing the epaulets was actually really easy, pillow case, iron, and a putty knife, same procedure you would use to remove a bridge, the glue on the other hand, was a major pain, they used superglue, nafta, goo gone, wouldnt put a dent in it, took about 4 hours of carefully rubbing acetone over it , dont want to do that again anytime soon, I really like the look of it though

That looks awesome! Might have to do that to my Elite Std. instead of buying a Tangent. :) What did you do with the battery box?

just heat them up with an iron, put a pillow case on top of the guitar to help prevent scorching the finish, I set the iron just below the steam setting, check every few muinutes till they get just hot enough that you can only touch them for a second or two, then slide a sharpend putty knife underneeth and they pop right off, be careful if you want to reuse them, they break really easily, I secured the battery box to the underside of the preamp housing with electrical tape, all I have to do is remove the rear cover and I can pop the battery out with one hand, not as conveinent as having on the outside, but close enough for me
