Hello music lovers. This is my first post. My name is Lenny. Live on Mt. Weather in Bluemont, VA. 54 years old. Have had many Ovations over the years. Currently just have an Adamas II (1681-5) 6 string. Really want to get an Adamas 12 string. (Q598) Thought about gettin a Guild, but I just love the Adamas. Really dig the integral tuner. Is it good? I read something on here a while back that indicated there are model changes coming. Should I wait? What are the changes? Anybody got a cobalt? How do you like the color? Can't find one locally to see. Also, removing a shim for lower action. Good idea? Buzzing problems? What strings do you like for an Ovation 12? Please feel free to comment on any of the above. Would like to attend the factory tour. Maybe I should wait until then. Thanks, folks.

Welcome Lenny!
There are lots of things happening with Adamas this year. Others will fill you in. You picked a great time to be in the market for one.

Lenny, welcome!

Don't wait for questions, just fire them out!

I like the D'Addarios EXP36 for my 12's.

There are many new offerings available now and soon. Anniversary issues and even a Slothead just a few posts away!

Tip: Many Members are selling some of their less played instruments to pay for new offerings - there are some great deals popping up.

Hang around and search the older posts on a variety of subjects!

Peace

Welcome,
Based on where you live, the OFC tour would be an awesome opportunity to see everything up close and have a huge cross section of folks available to answer all of your questions.

Wow, dudes! Can't believe the replies are coming fast and furious. Still looking forward to more answers. Sounds like I should definitely plan on the tour.

Welcome (boy is that redundant at this point). Don't worry about asking questions...just ask them. If you're in the market for a new Adamas, there's a nice slothead posted up here somewhere that you might consider. ;)

That's not a "new" Adamas. That's an old one that is missing the inner parts of the headstock!

The factory tour isn't till June, you might have to buy one or two to hold you over till then.
