We have an old SKB rack case for our PA that the latches have been broken on for years. I called SKB this past week and asked about price and availability. The Customer Service Rep told me they had plenty in stock and "We never charge for replacement parts...I'll mail them out today, how many do you need?" Great service and the latches showed up today. Seems most manufacturers view replacement parts as a way to make 200% profit.

It was a standing joke in the UK 30 or so years ago when a mechanic somewhere sat down with a spares price list for the original Mini and added up that it would cost 5 times more to build a Mini out of spares than to walk into a showroom and buy a new one.
It's good to know that there are still good guys out there.
