Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | As I posted several times on this board, I have a CC65 (bought from MisterGolf007). The guitar looks and sounds great...except for the lack of bass/low end projection.
I've noticed that even using an electronic tuner, sometimes the bass E string does not even register. The high end harmonics come out much louder and clear than the low end.
I took the saddle off, and it appears that the thinline pick-up is working. The saddle is much thicker on the low end side (which I'm sure is by design). I was wondering how I might help bring out the low end stronger to be more equal with the high end electronics. Even by turning up the bass on my amp, the pick-up still brings out the high end at a much higher level.
Any thoughts? would shimming UNDER the pick-up, and shaving down the saddle (all on the bass end) help pick up the bass? Other thoughts?
Thanks for your input.

I do know that having full and even contact under the peizos is critical. Look for potential gaps or uneven spots under the saddle and redo the shim for full contact. |

I've thought and asked about you several times. One of these days, we're all going to get "busted" for using corporate resources. |

I know a bone saddle is better than plastic. |

The bridge just holds the saddle upright as well as anchoring the strings. It is the string pressure on top of the saddle, down to the piezo and through the top that matters.
Sonically, the more solid the contact in that chain the less loss of transferred energy (sound) takes place.
It may be that the piezo is damaged also.
If it is a thinline type I may have a backup for you to try? |

Norse(nice guitar...just need to beef her bottom a bit)man1 Hi.
I have the same problem. I bought CC65 from Germany. Bass on this guitar is at low frequences very low (acoustic also).
Is it possible to replace this thin pickup with any better Piezo ?
Why is acoustic response at lower frequences
also bad - deep bowl ???
Any ideas how to repair the body -see pictures on:

Thank's for answer |

for 12 string CC65 and 6 string Pinnacle 3862.
CC65 has a thin pickup, 3862 has an greater Piezo
pickup.
Acoustic response is not unbalanced, only deep tones are not so loud as the high tones (strings)
I will check contact with pickup on morning. |

I tend to agree about your comments on the plywood/laminated tops. New they seem to sound fine..but when exposed to just houses elements (temp changes/humidity etc) I seem to be able to tell a difference in tone/ring |

It's sensitivity goes linear from high tone
string to low tone string down. Maybe is damaged or faulty - or placed vice versa ???
Cable from pickup is placed on thickest string.
I'm looking for new pickup. Which new thin type can i use? Maybe with tone corrections - please recommend me any good type. I will buy it in Europe. Any idea to destination shop ?
