Wouldn't it be nice if the Ovation web site had pictures like that? |

Location: central nj | I like the VOLUTE!! Gibsons had them and I thought that it was a great feel to the neck. I do not like the "skinny" pieces used in the 5 piece neck though. What do you fans think? |

Help me out with Volute. I know volute to be a spiral or coil. What are you refering to? |

Location: SoCal | This is absurd...again, as happened with the 30th Anniv Custom Legend (1719-30CM), a dealer is selling a guitar on eBay that supposedly isn't available (and, we get our first good pictures.)
And, what is this??? It says it was listed 8:06:16am PST, sold "best offer" 2:36:21pm, yet had a BIN. My math adds up to closing the auction after 6hrs and 20min.
I wonder if the Kaman rep, provided a guitar to demo to dealers, sold it to the dealer. Gee, he or she couldn't have had it long enough to demo it to too may dealers.
We're talking about a guitar for $1,549?
Hmmm...was the $1,749 BIN just included to avoid conflict with the dealer's contract (MAP)?
I'll bet there are some other dealers, along with Al, who have some questions for Kaman/Ovation. |

I have the 1688-8 that Chris Choate rec'd from the factory 12/24/04. That is serial # 21083. Difference of 91.
Be interesting if the factory failed to number them as they failed with the 30th Anniv CL. Also, is this a 12-fret made in 2004?? An a/e prototype "dumped" on eBay??
Chris has a 1688-7 that is 20791, made late 2003...292 difference from the 1688-8 or approx 24 a month. Was the one sold on eBay made in August of 2004?? |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | This sure does seem strange. I was under the impression these were limited to 100 guitars yet the serial number shown on the one that has already sold seems to say otherwise. Selling one of these gems for $1549. before it is even available to the public is way weird! Are these a limited edition or not? I guess our 3248 member strong club, with owners of thousands of Ovations dosn't have as much clout with the "Mothership" as you would think. |

I know, I know...it's an FRG!!!
Got to be to sell at 57% of list...If not FRG, guess that means the 30th CL Anniv should have sold for $1,432. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Guys, What's the fuss all about? We're bent out of shape because some ebay seller has advertize the guitar before we have ours? Who cares? Before this ebay sale came up we were all very happy to wait a few more weeks or months for our guitars. Now you make it sound like the sky is falling. So what? As soon as we all get our guitars we'll forget all about this and who the heck cares what the serial numbers are. Play on. |

I think it is the strangeness of it all that bothers everyone. Takes best offer or BIN, yet closes auction after 6 hours with one offer on the table. Then the serial number issue.
Certainly no crazier topic and response than a lot of our converstaions tend to be. |
