A month or so ago I acquired an Adamas SMT off of ebay. Some of you helped me in the dilemma that I was facing at the time dealing with the seller. (And for that I am grateful) The guitar looked like it was never played so I am happy for that.
I decided to buy an Ovation because I have been running sound for bands for over twenty years and have always thought there was nothing that sounded better then an Ovation in a live setting. Today I not only believe that but I also believe that unplugged they are an incredible sounding guitar, one of the best. My brother has a Taylor and I'd take the SMT over that in a second, no matter what the cost. The sharp, crisp sound delivers incredible power to any song. Good sustain without the soft blend that comes with so many all-wood guitars.
I am still what I would call a beginner (especially after seeing Doyle Dykes a couple weeks ago) but with a guitar like this to play I am quickly improving.
To anyone that reads this thread that is in the process of deciding what guitar to purchase I truly believe that you will be very pleased with Ovation and Adamas guitars. Buy one and if you don't like it, first go get your hearing checked and then if you still dislike it sell it here and go buy an inferior Martin for three times the money.

And that's the way it is. March 21, 2005.

Pictures of it have been posted on Jeromes website.
