I was thinking about Cliff's suggestion about fastening extra strap buttons to the walls for strap storage....
I have problems with my preferred stap fitting in my case, so I usually carry it elsewhere.
Then a thought hatched...what about strategically fastening those leftover stap bottons to the outside of the case and carry the stap there? Could even become useful to sling the case over the shoulder.
Has anyone ever tried this??? Any suggestions?
(Alteration to my case is not an issue, as it is old and battered, but still functions well) |

My main thought would be whether or not the case itself would withstand the pulling at a specific pressure point. Maybe reinforced somehow.....or you could fix it to where it looped around the case as an additional safty net. |

I'm going to cut two metal plates, attach the stap buttons to the plates, then with two rivets each, attach the plates to the banded section.
One's going to go at the headstock end, top back corner, but not so far toward the spine (hinge side) as to effect the case setting on its feet. Same with the other that will go about 2inches to the right of the lower bout clasp.
Seems like placing it diagonally across the top will be just the right length to get the strap from flopping too much yet allow for use a shoulder sling...and attach right to the guitar without re-adjusting. |

Works friggin' great. Holds the strap nicely AND functions as a shoulder strap!
If You want to see the the Straplok Case Projet click here:
Straplock Project
Came out really well and is solid as a rock. The straplok will hold the the wieght of guitar in the case just fine. |
