I have been a casual fan all my life.
Love to go to games or have a game on the TV in the background while I am taking care of honey-do's.

Lately, I have been hearing a term that just puzzles me. I sure it has been around forever but I don't know what it means. I figure....where do I go for ask all questions of a meaningless nature and guess what I come up with....that's right, the OFC ;)

Now....what is a walkoff home run (or maybe it is a walkon)

Appreciate those who provide a real answer to a serious question!

A walkoff home run is when the home team bats in the bottom of the 9th (or later) inning and hits a HR to win the game. The word "walkoff" is because the visiting team can do nothing except walk off the field. You must have watched the Red Sucks game yesterday. Dave

Does anyone know of a baseball dedicated web site that will help me with a question about my Ovation guitar ?

All the sites I visited just seem to focus on baseball.

Guys,
Do you thing an aggressive steroid regimen would improve my guitar playing?

Yes, It will make you play faster than God. (can we mention His name in this context?)

You can mention His name whenever you want cw. Last I looked we still have that "Freedom of Speech" thing. Actually it's a little known fact that God used to play third base for the Red Sox. He was the "player to be named later" when the Sox made that deal with the Yankees for Babe Ruth.

Sorry, Dave... many of us will find THAT usage offensive.

You're right - post deleted. But, sorry, every year as I write that big check it's just the first phrase to come to mind. Dave

Oh, believe me, Dave, I understand... as I get older and all my exemptions keep moving out, I find I'm muttering some pretty vile things myself.

Hey, maybe guitars should count as exemptions! I mean it is kind of a money pit, just like children right? So why shouldn't we get a little brake from the feds? Write your congressman ...

I was waiting for the catcher to stand up, take off his mask, and catch it bare-handed . . .

It had to give pause to those who make fun of rock-throwing Palestinians. An acquaintance did quip: "There was the first screwball in RFK in 30 years". I don't think he meant the pitch.

Bush wears a full body bullet proof suit under his clothes at events like that. I'd imagine that it's not easy to throw a ball in it.
