| 2005 is a good year for ovation/adamas product line. lots of good products. note that ovation is no longer a company. it's just a product line under Kaman.
i think all of the new adamaii are good. u guys should buy one or two. |

Location: SoCal | Ovation was originally a division of Kaman Engineering (or whatever the original company was called. later it was folded under Kaman Music and became a product line, like Takamine, Toca, etc. |

However, if I did not have one, I would jump all over a reissue because it is a great playing and sounding guitar. I am sure the reissue will be just as impressive. |

Location: Australia | The Adamas 11 reissue has the old style (but redesigned) volume and tone knobs and a stereo output and I agree, a very nice guitar.

Location: Los Angeles, CA | I'm considering ordering a Adamas II reissue. . . however, since quite a few U681 owners are dissatisfied with the visual flaws, I'm worried that the guitar I end up with will not be as "pretty" as she ought to be.
That said, I guess my next option would be finding a used Adamas II. Now how much would something like that set me back? Does anyone know of an AD II looking for a new home? |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I think they should make the reissues exactally like the originals. Then all the fit and finish comments would take up 100 pages! Now by today's standards the quality then would be about an 80 out of 100. It was so much easier then because they were something really new, particullarly the slotheads. A 100% preserved example of a Slothead would be absolutly shredded to pieces by those on the other record long thread. Not throwing stones, just that's the way it was then. People today expect much better (as they should and they should be able to get it)
ebee, you can find them out there on the bay and they're great guitars. Honestly the quality of the new ones are better. I looked at a bunch of the Uwhatever-it-is today and they looked fine to me. Of course I like the smell of jet fuel too.....
And for the record the reissues should look as close as possible to the originals. Bringing back things that are bad is pretty stupid. Getting rid of the K-Bar on some of the reissue models is good but don't go back to the original type truss rod, which had a whole host of problems, go with the new dual acting rod, looks just the same as the original but works better with today's technology. The reissues need to have all the appeal of yesterday but all the advantage of today. Dead nuts duplicates bring back all the problems from those designs. There is a middle ground here and it's the smarter way to go. |

not making the guitar a dead nuts duplicate will just fuel those that don't want to get an original but not spend 10K.
I agree making it better is much more appealing. Voices of critics will always be there no matter how good or poor. |
