Wow....those are some detailed pictures!
I like how the woodwork on the bridge is left a little rough. It makes them look much more hand crafted.
Isn't it nice to see them all new and shiney!
I see you got a picture of yourself playing that beauty! I think when most people try a guitar, the instinctive first chord to play is "D".

interesting serial #...21141...given the 12frets share that prefix and are numbered below and above it. 21138 and and 21168 for example.

I suspect that the serial number is in the Adamas series and the guitars aren't all built sequentially within one model.

I played that same guitar at the NAMM show in January. Wonderful instrument.

Ahhh...that'd explain it. Still interesting they would mix models among serial numbers.

From those pics it looks like they've done away with the resin pickguard which over time will be a good thing IMHO.

I have a 2002 special order 1687 and it doesn't have a blob of resin either.

My 12 string Adamas I ("Big Blue") was built in 1993. No resin p/g on it.

That's interesting Moody. My 95' 1687 had a pickguard.

How's the Adamas as a 12 string ? I'm thinking of ordering one as a companion to my 6 (probably a "Big Red").

I think the pickguard thing varies al over the place (depends how thick the goop was that day). I've got one guitar with a pretty thick and obvious goop-guard, some less thick, one that has no guard but the top has a slightly different hue in that area and yet another with non at all (goop machine was not working that day). or maybe someon epaid $845 extra and ordered it with no goop-guard. I think the stool he's sitting on is pretty neat as well. All music stores should have a simple box like this that has a set of headphones on a battery pack so you can plug in if you want.
Nice to see Ovation doing these Adamas 1 copies justice! They look every bit as nice as the olde versions many of us have. Do they make these in the old #7 color?? Beige/Blue
