Location: Minn. | I think the pick-up needs replacing on my Ovation Folklore model 1614.
Are these expensive? |

The best you could do is see what Customer Service at Ovation can do for you.
Is it the single knob unit? I just picked one off of Ebay for about $40. No garauntee (sp).
What is it doing wrong? Sometimes a good shot of cleaner is all that is needed. |

Location: Minn. | Yes, it's a single knob. I've never used one before. I picked up a cord at Schmidtt Music, and plugged it into a tape player to see if I could move the level meters. Nothing comes through.
If I screw around with the knob, I get some static, but that's about it.
Any info would be appreciated. |

Location: Scotland | change the battery, check the pickup jack connection to the preamp and the physical condition of the output jack. The original volume-only Fet3 preamp circuit is piss-simple & any tech with half a brain can fix them. If it's the pickup that's down they are basically unrepairable and you'd need to contact Kim or John at customer service. |

that leaves me out so take it in consideration...
have a 1669 that was dead, yet some "noise" when turning the volume knob...plugged in a new saddle, no problem...as advised, call Customer Service (Kim or John) at 800-552-4681 or 860-379-7575. |
