About this Ovation Gp tribute. I wish to know how it sounds from people who have purchased it. Is it as good as the origonal and is it worth buying? I dont really have enough to buy a real ovation thiers one being sold on Ebay right now in Red and im pretty pissed that i cant afford it so i was thinking of buying the tribute. So can anyone tell me how good it is and if its worth spending 700 bucks on it? Also if you could give me a pic of it in Black.

I haven't played the Eastwood GP, but two things... the headstock looks UGGGGGGLY and totally out of place, it's like reissuing a '59 Les Paul with a Teisco headstock. Second, the heel is completely wrong, and the seamless heel is one of the GP's best features. Other than that, I'm sure it's a great axe for the money, like most Eastwoods. Just don't buy it thinking it's the same as the original GP.

Of course, it's easy for me to be smug about it, I've had my GP since '86, when nobody wanted one. But I really do wish Eastwood had worked with Ovation on a proper GP reissue. Seriously, why doesn't Ovation do it and get it right? They can reissue the GP to specs, call it a Hamer GP if they have to, but please just get it right!

I Agree. I just cant afford an Origonal Ovation Gp but i still want that Gp sound so if i cant get it from the reissue then it looks like im gonna have to start saving up some cash and get the real deal.
