Most of these younger folks never had the opportunity to wear a yellow leisure suit with lapels that stuck out beyond your shoulders. Polyester just isn't what it used to be.

Too bad ya' gotta vote to look...

Since 'Neither' is not an option, I had to pass.

How about the Death Metal version of 'Silent Night'?

Prof, I had the opportunity and remember the time all to well.I can honestly say I was NEVER tempted to wear one OR listen to the Music that went along with the suit! GOD!! I hated that time period!

That's sick. Not the modern euphemism for amazing, but as in, your meds need to be increased.

But it did make me laugh. Guess my meds need increasing, too.

1971 Got beat up in a country bar, they didn't like long hair hippie types. So i don't associate anything good with country music.

I was married in a bright baby blue tux that had a severe style infusion from leisure suits. Not my smartest moment.

Ummm actually.. and I mean no disrespect, until reading this thread, I thought you guys were joking. I thought they were just something on TV or maybe as "costumes" for fun at the Studio 54 type places. But I'm getting the impression, that people actually wore them in public???

Where??? Why???

I typed an embarassing confession, similar to FlySig's, but forgot to hit Add Reply. My absent mindedness is sometimes as helpful as my inability to scan all those old pictures and put them on the computer.

I gotta go with disco. They had the bling, not to mention the drugs that made you feel like you were having a great time, even if it wasn't.

I had different uniforms for different musics:
Disco, I actually wore polester.
Country uniform was the same as the punk uniform, t-shirt, jeans and sneakers.
The disco uniform is long gone. The country uniform stayed.
