I have a Black Flake and I feel it's missing something. So I want to add a motive to it either paint or some "application"
Any tips / websites ? |

Location: Upper Left USA | Welcome Red00,
Are you talking about an Acoustic or a Solid Body Guitar?
Acoustics are taboo for additions of pickguards, stickers or Artist's signature - unless its Glen Campbell, Melissa or Al Dimeola. Some are signed by that CK guy - not the perfume.
Solids are fair game though!!! Look in my photo gallery!
What do you mean by a "motive" and where is "NL"? |

Location: Lisboa | Hey Cliff!!! I wonder how you knew that Red00 is from The Netherlands?
Second: Why do you use Autocad for? Are you an architect? |

Location: Upper Left USA | When an Architect screws up they hire a good Landscaper.
When a Physician screws up they hire an Undertaker.
If you are a Political Party or trying to sell something you hire a Tradeshow Designer!
Or should this be a Poll entry? |

Location: NL | The idea is to make a fine paint adjustment on the body in the black color as the bridge.
A fine line or (very subtle) motif along the border. That's it.
But,,, forget I mention it OK.! |

Location: NJ | If you're looking to just do an "accent stripe" around the edge of the body, there's a company called Beugler that makes a striping tool. It's a brass tool about the size of a large lipstick. At the end is a knurled metal roller that is replaceable (various "stripe widths"). You fill it up with paint and roll it around the edge (using the same principal as roll-on deodorant). It comes with an attachable wire "guide" that allows you to follow along parallel to a contour (like a car's body line - or the edge of a guitar body?). A major part of it is to get the correct paint to the correct consistency to where it's thin enough to "flow" (and then flow together to cover the knurl patterns) yet thick enough to be opaque and not scratch off. It takes a LOT of practice. The other alternative might be a pinstriping dagger and a steady hand - if you start now, you'll be ready in a couple years of intense practice.
Check into a custom auto supply company for vinyl striping tape. Comes in a shitload of colours/widths, is a lot more forgiving as you can reposition it, - and in the end, is removeable - so that when you wake up the next morning and wonder what the F@%&K you did to your guitar . . . you've got an "out". |
