Location: Florida | In a year since I've had it, the top of my Adamas SMT has sunk about 3/64 of an inch at the bridge.
How do I know this? Well... with all the shims out and the relief on the neck set to about .015, the elevation was right on the "book miniumum" of 2/32s and 2.5/32s.
The action was low. I thought it was my saddle getting grooves (its a little grooved, not much though...light actually). Now I see, I'm back to both shims and my action is just barely up to 2/32's and 2.5/32s (Like I could replace the thin shim with another thick one and be just about perfect). Same neck relief.
My only conclusion is that the top is sinking a bit. The neck certainly cant be moving against string pull... can it? |

Location: Upper Left USA | Bowl bend or top sinkage? Have you double checked the braces for disconnect as well? |

Location: Florida | Hmmm. I guess I better. This thing has literally never left my living room since it got here. Dunno how problems can start but.. better to check. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | I've had lift, not sinking on my guitars. Some lift over time is normal. This sounds like you have to bring it to a pro for an evaluation. Keep us posted. |

Location: Florida | Took a look inside - no loose or seperated or broken braces. I see that the brace marks visible on the top of the guitar are "perhaps" a little more accentuated, but you still need to have a reflection on the top to see em. There is still visably some arch to the top.
This is strange. I'm not really an "acoustic" maven, solid bodies act so differently. |
