If I had it to do over again I would just call myself "Brad" but, being new to bulletin boards I thought having a "handle" was required.
Some names here are easy to figure out but some are not. So...Whoooo Are You...who/who...who/who?
And what's behind the code name? |

Maybe now I can find out the real name of the person behind the highly cryptic moniker "Paul Templeman" and what his thought rationale was in choosing it . . .
btw:
my "screen name" comes from my favorite place to take a llama for a romantic tryst . . . . when ya' take 'em to the edge of a cliff they push back harder . . . |

Not frequent to BB's and used to having to set up a dozen different logins at work as MWoodford I thought it was short and sweet. Besides, how long would it last?
If I had to do it over I go by Al or Paul! Actually I enjoy being mistaken for Moody and my "best" logon name is "fishgiven" which I pulled out of Matthew 7:7+. |

Some members have asked me what style of Country Artist am I? ;)
Well, I don't play country music, but I am a fan of the old, real country music and old country artists.
I love Bluegrass, old bluesman Robert Johnson and most good retro music. But I mainly play Latin Jazz and improvisational music.
I chose it of course because while visiting the board as a non member, I saw members used Ovation model names, like Adamas, Custom Legend, etc.
So I chose Country Artist first because is my favorite model, and second because it was not taken.
I would rename this 14 fret nylon string guitar the "Latin Artist" model. Since no Country Artist has played it since Glen C. and a few others for years.
There are still a few O model names left to use as handles, like........oh, you figure them out.

I could be a be big Chuck Berry Fan (short for Johnny B. Goode).
I could have been in a police line up of a hooker's customers. No Cliff, that DIDN'T really happen.
I could have gotten the name from my favorite stall in the men's room at the office, (right between A and C). Although that one is highly unlikely.
Turns out, I just got my screen name from my father about 38 years ago. Pretty boring. |

| I happen to live in the Adirondacks and I find Most people respond to my address as Ohhh.... Up in the "north country". So I figured I would save time and anounce it right up front. Besides, like some of the rest of us, when you first join you are not sure if you will stay a member of the group? I love my Ovations but I was not sure how many NUTZ I might find in here and how much of an EFFORT it may be trying to explain my posts to the WACKEY bunch in here.
So my handle was a quick pick but I guess it is different enough now that I am used to it. I use my name at the end of my posts anyway.... I hate having to address people using their code names??
I always figured code names are for Kids or other web sites where it may be better for users to remain anonimous.

My guitar teacher explained that the fretting hand needs to be conditioned and strengthened to fret string on the guitar neck. Since my left hand is already stronger than my right hand, and right handed guitar was more comfortable to play than lefty, I got a natural "free" jump on things. Playing clean however, well....thank takes practice practice practice. And when you think you have the piece your practicing down pat, go and practice it again and again and again. Enjoyed the thread....it was a great one!! |

After what seemed liked weeks of trying to just get mine name into the system correctly, I finally gave up and just accepted the 28 added to the end of my first name and last initial.
After that, having sometimers disease, I started using it for all of my screen names so I would only have to remember all the passwords and not the screen name also. |

Fred /fred/ noun: Somone with all the newest, neatest, most expensive, best ever gear, and nothing but excuses as to why the hell he can't perform.. (hint, It's alway the stupid new doowhatchamahickey's fault, not mine!!)
Actually my name IS Fred, and I ride Mountainbikes. Several people thought I would be a "fred" when I got back into it, because I tended to buy higher-end crap. truth is I was breaking cheap crap (forks, wheels, frames) faster than they could warranty it, so most of it was free up-grades anyway. When I'm in fighting form (not fat like I am now), I like to climb 2500-4000 vertical feet a day on a 35lb bike with 4-5" of suspension and hydraulic disc brakes. "Why would anyone suffer themselves to that kind of torture" you ask? Because in order to make that kind of "vertical", you must be able to descend it as well ;) One of my favorite trails drops close to 2000' in maybe 1/4 mi. Yes allot of it is STRAIGHT DOWN!!
you can try emailing mtnbikerfred@(pick your favorite free domain). you'll probably get me. |

Only joking. I was a straight A student in college. Since we got together in college, Cindy and I have always had Mastiffs and cats. When we could afford a vehicle big enough to comfortably lug around two mastiffs, we got license plates that said NoasArk (only 7 letters allowed). I piloted the ark, so that made me noah. |

Contrary to rumors. I have nothing to do with law enforcement. The "PD" are my middle and last initials: Peter and an Italian name that's difficult to pronounce.
The first forum I ever joined was the Fender Forum (www.fenderforum.com), although I haven't posted there in a long time. I was into Fender guitars at the time (I still am, although I currently don't own any). I tried to join Fender Forum using "Tony D", but that was taken, so I added my middle initial, hence "Tony PD". I probably could've used "Tony D" here, but I decided to be consistent and use the same name.
I didn't even realize PD also stands for Police Department until swat274 (whatever happened to him/her?) once asked me if I was a cop. |

Location: atlanta | In the late 1970s, believe it or not, I was actually a part-time pop critic. An acquaintance of mine was the Music Editor of a local newspaper, and he invited me to be a "stringer" by writing reviews of recently released records (vinyl back in those days). Rock and pop were to be my specialties. I would get about a half-dozen promos at a time, listen to them, and do up a review of a couple of them.
One of the perks of the job was backstage press passes to most of the concert acts coming through Atlanta. I have distinctly hazy memories of postconcert backstage parties (three of the best were the Ramones, Dr. John, and Springsteen).
I nearly got fired for one review they published--I blasted a new record by Hall and Oates, and called for a boycott of it. I heard indirectly that their record label really didn't like my choice of action verbs!
In 1978 the paper published a review of mine that without a doubt is my all-time favorite. I was sorting through a batch of promos and noticed one on the Warner Bros. label which had uncharacteristically drab cover artwork. The band was unknown to me. The final line of my review went something like this: "If you buy only one record all year on blind faith, let this be it."
It was the first Dire Straits record.
Looking back, I had a lot more misses than hits, but it all sure was fun.
Best to everybody--

It is my first name because of a banker relative in WVa named Bailey King that started the tradition. (Please don't shoot Hydro Shok, all my relatives are from WVa).
As a youth, Bailey was an unusual moniker, and in midlife, WRKP Cincinnatti added a definately, and very pretty, feminine aspect. Every where I went the name Bill Bailey seemed to follow, and I was known by that handle in Poway, CA for many years as a pool playing reprobate. My uncle Bailey, who had no children and whose wife, Leta, was a part of an Hispanic family that settled in Ohio and hid their heritage, my uncle sold me a beautiful 1937 Ford sedan that my brother and I proceeded to destroy for $25, I regret destroying that car as much as the Gibson SJ that I bought from my fiddle playing brother that I broke in a fit of feeling that my wife didn't appreciate my music and gave away to a hippie techer in Poway who played folk and restored it and it sounded good when he played it.
Bailey was my name when I took up mandolin to atone for destroying a good guitar but it didn't do any good, when I go in to Burger King and have to give some young waitress my name for the order, I still say "Bill" cause I'm tired of the question "UH, how do you spell that?"
You spell it Bailey |

"...Current Laws about disclosure made me use this one... oh, wait, was I supposed to say that?"....
the standard question is: Are you now, or have you ever been, associated with any law-enforcement agency or any of it's governing bodies?
or something like that.
screenname is self-explanatory.
had 2 others: ... when first joined was... 71Balladeer... then was cosmicunixycler till the deacon 12string cheese incident..
kind of a one-face kinda guy. Like it better this way.
God Bless,

Location: Hagaman, NY | My name is one I carried over from the Hamer Fan Club forum. I'm pretty much a Kaman only owner in that I own Hamer, Ovation, and Takamine guitars. One of my favorite electric guitars is one I bought new over a decade ago with a funky hologram finish dubbed 'holoskull' by Hamer. I figured it was a funny play on words to make my board name at this forum and at the HFC forum hollowskull instead (which should be obvious) :) |

(A little more as winter approaches, as I seem to have an internal instinct to fatten up a little at that time of year.)I am furry, cuddly, and love to give hugs. I like honey and am a sucker for peanut butter and maple syrup. I usually try to shy away from trouble, just don't back me into a corner, or your only hope may be to ball up into a ball and play dead. :D |

Location: Caribou, ME | I have 2 daughters, Kim and Sarah. Back about 10 years ago I had vanity plates done up as "K&S DAD". I signed up for email in '99, remember snap.com? I think it was owned by NBC.... seems like a century ago, and they're long gone. Well for whatever reason I wasn't able to get k&sdad as an email i.d., so I used ksdaddy. That ended up being my trademark i.d. for everything, including ebay and my website www.ksdaddy.com. The old '82 Ford pickup still has the K&S DAD plate, and the Protege has the KSDADDY plate.
So now my girls are 13 and 14, right at the age where they should be mortified by such a reference, but they've never said anything.
Not to my face anyway. |

Just say that your signature sound comes from the Danelectro Grilled Cheese Distortion peddle.

| We therapists don't like to use judgmental words like "wrong". "unwelcome visitor" would be the preferred term. |

I get so tired of writing out "Elephant". If I had it to do over, I think I'd use E-man. You know, kind of jazz it up a little.
By the way, I hear moody P.I.'s are the worst kind. |
