Location: Midland, MI | Actually, I believe that Greg Gianakis, whom the guitar was custom built for, is a regular poster on the HFC. I don't know if that's his eBay account or not. Either way, beautiful guitar...but 12-strings aren't me, either. :) |

Location: NJ | greg sold it to joe and joe is selling it. Joe only owned it a week. I guess he did not like it. this is the second hamer 12 I saw him sell. This guitar is a duotone and spectacular but I really prefer the newport 12 |

Location: Midland, MI | Hey, Al, what's your take on the three-hole vs. f-hole? I know the piezo was upgraded with the f-hole, is the sound better in some way? Different? How would you characterize it? I wish we had a Hamer deal here (locally). =( |

I have played both 3 hole flat top and f hole arched top. both sound good. I don't think one is better than the other really. Although the company PR is that the f hole arched top is better.
there are many that think the 3 hole is superior. Personally it does nothing for me aesthetically.
my personal viper is very much like a duotone. the official model distinction is the al pepiak viplectortone that is viper-collectors-duotone
I just don't understand why so many players do not use the viper or duotone. they are great guitars. |

Location: NJ | Excuse my "ignernce", but I'm having a bit of a problem grasping the concept of "3-hole" (with the exception of a girl I met in Wildwood in '79, - but that's a COMPLETELY different story . . ).
Could somebody possibly post a pic of a 3-hole Hamer example? |

Hamer in Chicago did the 3 hole design, somebody in Bloomfield thought that an EFF hole would be better, you know the rest of that tune.... |

Location: Midland, MI | That would be more aesthetically pleasing, clifster, but I think Hamer puts all of their controls in that same configuration (excepting the Improv). At least, all the three knob Hamers I've seen have them like that. |
