I know...it's still weeks away but am so looking forward to it.
While on the factory tour I just might "that guy" who is always asking questions.

I'm real interested in that "laser" machine they use to measure top vibration.
I want to learn more about evolution of bracing.
And what is the real difference between AA tops and AAA tops?
What can make two examples of the same model guitar vary in performance?
What were the best questions that came from the other half of the tour?
Can the finish on a guitar top affect the sound?
Please de-bunk any myths about the benefits of certain exotic woods.

And I'm trying to think of more.
Yep...I could be a real problem.

How about Contour bowl, LX treatment, 12fret neck, 12 string slothead, ALL on the same guitar...

I already know the answer... don't hold your breath...

It means that its Your Name they call when its broke, late or they can't figure it out!

Good perspective CMS Man! While we are chortling away on the net dreaming about going to the factory the Luthiers are wishing they could go home and surf the net!

FWIW:
Recently our Refueling Team (non-petroleum)had some T-shirts made up that read:

Front: Small logo with Crane and PSNS&IMF stuff.

Back: "We have upped our standards...
now up yours!"

Seems there was a little disparity of requirements between now mingled Management entities!

CMS, maybe you could add a little 'custom' detail to Schroeder's - to let him know you're not just slacking...

strictly speaking of course I have absolutely no proof that I actually have a guitar on order.

all I know is that I sent al a bunch of money and then pics appeared on the board of a whole new wing being added to the pepiak mansion. coincidence? I don't think so Scully.

cliff plans to have it sprayed pink, jeff plans to have it built by a 17 year old intern and I suspect that W2 will tell them to fit long range tanks.

the upside is that if I ever get it I will have a guitar so unique that #47 will look like an Applause.

But please, no palm tree cut outs.

I'm having trouble visualising this.

Perhaps cliff could fire up autocad and give me some idea of what a pink, twin-necked (at right angles) Country Artist with windsor castle cut-outs would look like.

strangely the Ovation website offers no guidance.

And....I'm looking forward to hearing and perhaps being allowed to play one these highest of the high end, holy grail type Ovations.

It would be nice if this year, the high end guitars, on the walls at the factory were re strung so they sounded a bit better. Seems to me that last year my main impression of #6 and Adamas #47 were that the strings were dead.

Just a thought....
