Not too long ago I bought (eBay) a CV68. I am interested in adding some pickups. As per what some here have said, will go active, probably EMG.
Al, you said you have an hb at the bridge and a sc at the neck, but you did not say what they were.
Looking for a mellow sound with some blues, while also retaining the piezo in the bridge.
Noticed Emg has a floating jazz pickup, but don't think there is enough clearance between the top and strings at the neck. The viper looks strong and cutting into the top should not be a problem.
Thought about a tele pickup at the neck, with a hb at the bridge, but which hb? 5 way switching,
piezo - piezo hb - hb - hb neck - neck.
No fancy push/pull pots, just a basic layout.

I will have the work done.

Suggestions? What do you think?

Buy a Hamer Duotone and put a Duncan Phat Cat in the neck position.

Check into Kent Armstrong's floating neck pickups. Mine is rather thin.

I have emg pickups in my guitar. the reason is I wanted everything to come out of one plug. I did not want to deal with 2 cables coming out of the guitar. it is all then wired into a 5 way strat style blade switch. so I have a battery for the piezo and one for the emgs
