Paul's 1537 looks just great.
...the serial # on my 12fret Uterus is actually 21138--not 22138 |

If anyone is interested, I know where there is a Book Elite (which I believe to be NOS, the shop used to be an Ovation dealer) in a shop in Indiana. The shop has a very high price (over $3000) on it, but if you want to see if you can get them to see the light.....e-mail me and I'll tell you where it is. I played it at length; even though the strings were quite dead, it sounded very good.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | You bet. Makes me shed a tear for when I played the one they had at Elderly Instruments and $1400 seemed like such a LARGE sum of money for a guitar at that time(I had barely gotten back into playing and even $500 seemed a lot then).......
If you want SOUND, the FD-14 is the real deal, if you want bling, get a Al DiMeola Custom Legend (and still get good sound, just not quite as good as a FD-14).

The Look.
The Materials.
The Appointments.
The Workmanship.
Think- original Adamas with a wooden top.
They were the very first Elite and there is not all that many of them still around. |
