Ok, any experts on cheap plane fare from Seattle-ish to Hitch-hiking range to the factory? Where's the nearest State Park to the Factory?

The hotel includes a buffet breakfast, including "cook 'em yourself" belgan waffles. Now they go great with maragritas.

"maragritas." "belgan"

So exactly how many of these maragitas have you drunk tonight Paul? (That's probably afternoon where you are).

I do not "drink" margaritas, and I'm offended that you would think that I do.

I do, however, voraciously consume margaritas. Just "drinking" them is for wimps. Pour a little orange juice in with the tequila and it makes a perfect supplement for a belgan waffle.

The "Belgans" are described in chapter 305 of the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". They live on a planet that is ruled by the "waffles", and spend most of their time waffling between what to have for breakfast and how to make a margarita. Orange juice was mentioned in the third epoch once and then discarded as hopelessly "gringo", a term they learned from a Mexican who landed on their planet after consuming two bottles of HOT Tabasco sauce after drinking some VERY cheap Tiajuana mescal at a trade fair. He had discovered teletransportation, but was too burned out to realize it so he learned to like waffling and sold his serape, huaraches, and burro to the planet's archaeologists who buried them and created an ancient myth of Aztec ancestry.

The "Belgans" then became known as "Los Belgans", and waffles were replaced with tortillas, even though they weren't nearly as good with butter and syrup, but they were socially much more acceptable.

How Moodypi learned this is the real mystery, unless he has experimented with Tabasco and CHEAP Mescal (The worm is a space traveller)!

Hmmm....even with a generous count that makes about 20 people. Perhaps that means we will have about 30 surprise attendees.
Will Moody, PI fly in on a red eye?
Can schroeder's passport clear the "no fly" list?
Will cruster activate his android double to take his place at this weeks family function?
Can Bailey's car make the trip?
Will paulmac fly over for the day?
Will popcritic pop in?
Will mtbikerfred pedel up to the door?

Y'know . . . . thinking 'bout it . . . .

During the last two Tours, Ovation had exceeded their ALREADY more-than-generous hospitality by raffle-ing off a guitar . . . .

It just occurred to me that the LESS people that show up . . . the BETTER my chances are of winning . . . .

STAY THE f@&k HOME!!!!!

I have not signed up for the tour yet. I told my wife that I want to start driving to the factory at 3 am on the day of the tour. I am used to getting up early and driving like this. But due to the fact that I will be going alone she is afraid that something might happen to me. Who knows what!!. I guess something like driving off the road or having a terrible accident. I guess maybe she would feel better if this happened to me with a van full of my whole family   including her. I agree with Cliff about the chances of possibly winning the guitar(if they give one away  )
I am openned to suggestions on believable reasons to tell my wife not to worry and to let me go without feeling guilty.
Quick responses please. I am running out of time.

One: You are certainly safer on any road at 3 in the morning compared to 8 in the morning.
Two: You put an extra big payment on the life insurance this month.
Three: There are a lot fo toy-boys out there looking for rich widows.
Four: You will lose all credibility with the OFC if your reason for not attending is not being allowed to drive at 3 am.

If all these fail, knot some sheets together and sneak out.

Most accidents occur within 2 miles of home; go further!

Pick up a Hitchiker to keep you company

Take a long nap before hand so she will know you are rested.

Tell her that you hear her concerns (validate) and you appreciate how she cares (appreciation). Tell her you will be thinking about her and the kids all the way there (reassurance).

Under no circumstances are you to fall back on the "the other guys will call me a wuss if I don't go!" thing.

When have you ever read of an "Oriental" becoming a "victim" out in the real world. You are perfectly safe, victims are immigrants who have failed to go through the process of becoming citizens, and the unfortunate black man who fell out of the South African plane's nose wheel over "gasp" decent homes who had to put up with body parts falling into their patios (Boy, did that ruin the well planned party).

"Orientals" just get good grades in school and without having to get especial treatment because of their minority status. How unamerican can those "Orientals" get.

Or, us Ohio farm boys, or anybody else who tries to do better without asking for special treatment.

I talked to Pearl last night and assured her that I was going to be OK with the early morning drive. The Factory is about 120 miles from home and I should be able to make it within 2 1/2 hours. I told her that I would give her a wake up call at about 5:30 am so that she can get up and start her day. I also told her that I would stay overnight on Friday night after the jam session.Pearl was not really happy about my possible arrangements so to cheer her up I told her that someone mentioned the "wuss" word.
She wanted to know who it was so I Told her that it was Moody  . She actually laughed and felt better about my plans. So therefore I am coming to the tour :D . I am signing up today.

I'll be there, and am dragging a friend along. He has a Celebrity and is not thrilled with it at all. He's not quite an Ovation fan....yet. I'm hoping at least one night with a Llama might change that. He was supposed to come last year and bailed at the last minute. I'm hoping it won't be a repeat this year.

Michele is skipping it this year. She was kind enough to attend the past 2 tours, and did so enthusiastically. I s'pose I can let her slide this time.

mapquest said 120 miles. My Garmin GPS said 98 miles. I guess it must be somewhere in between.
It will probably be more like 2 hours with a rest stop.

Rest stop? They don't happen till Virginia which is about 6 hours into the trip.

(My golfing buddy Jeffery calls my car the time machine since you get to where you're going before you left where you are)

Someone may have to wake me up. If I get there really early I will try to catch some ZZZ's before the tour starts. I have a red van with gold trim. I kind of looks like a chinese resturant on wheels. I was in chinatown on the last day that they were celebrating Chinese New Year. I stopped to pick up my wife and mother inlaw. just before I pulled away a woman tapped on the passenger window. She wanted to get in.
She thought that I was a commuter van. Why couldn't picking up women be this easy when I was single?
