Location: Florida | Greetings all....I have just become a member since, thanx to my Dad (Gospel Guitar Guy), I am now an Ovation owner....Thanks again Dad!!!!
Now, I just have to learn to play the thing before he comes back to visit.........
I am probably biased towards Ovations, since they're pretty much all my Dad ever played while I was growing up, but an Ovation fan is an Ovation fan, right??? |

| Welcome Dan - you need to get your blues name. Do a search.
And be real nice to your dad. I'm thinking of forming a club. |

You are following in a great family tradition here!
I would just grab the Blues name of "Bone Daddy" while you have the chance!

Isn't that amazing? I always called my son Jack as well. Of course his name is Will so there's a certain amount of confusion.......

Consider it done -- Henceforth I shall be known as "Bone Daddy Walter". (Where were you when I was trying to think of a login name???) Actually, my son called me that years ago....its a line from "A Nightmare before Christmas"
And yes, an Orthopod Tech is an assistant to an Orthopedic Surgeon - I'm a Surgical Technician, but I now work for a Out-patient Surgery Center that is a connected to the largest Orthopedic practice in my area - if you need surgery, come to Coastal Orthopedics and Sports medicine--I'll get you a discount for some guitar lessons !!! |

I'll let him finish the story. So, I'll finish...
When I was but a lad, Dad and I started calling each other "Jack" from the line in the movie "Stripes" (That's that facts, Jack!!!)
Of course, being a teen-ager, I had dreams of playing the guitar and becoming a rock star, but the running joke was that Dad and I were going to form our own music studio and call it "Jack and Jack Music Industries" But, as usual with teenagers, I lacked the patience and discipline to actually sit down and LEARN to play, so now I'm trying to do it 20 years later.....
Now that I own 2 guitars, I guess I'm out of excuses and have to get to work.... |

Could have used you last July when I had my total knee done. I got lots of support from the members here and even some pain killer offers but a little expert advise is always welcome. |

We do a bunch of manipulations on people who don't keep p with the therapy, trying to loosen up the scar tissue....I've heard its the worst pain..... |

Location: alabama | My Dad (a trombone player who always wanted to be a guitarist) bought me my first Ovation back in 1977 after my college roommate had one too many Malt Duck's and stepped on the neck of an nice Tel Star hummingbird copy that was my only guitar at the time. I have never looked back or owned any other brand since. Welcome to the club and thanks for bringing back some great memories of my own. |
