I wish you a beautiful sunday from germany!
Today, I have registered to this forum and I want to hear your opinions about my two babies.
Especially about the 1567. I bought it from you US ebay some weeks ago.
It is in absolute superb condition and it plays very nice!
I would like to know what you think this baby is worth?
Here they are:
1866 Legend 12 String
1567 Legend 6 String

I have several guitars that in my opinion or worth probably 2-3 times what the market would dictate....but I don't care, I love em! |

Oh yeah....welcome to the club. Join in frequently and you will learn a lot (and probably somethings that you wished you hadn't learned!) |

It's good to see more people from Europe!!
We're all welcome here and it's a great place to learn a lot on our favorites guitars.
Your O's are really nice.

I am 25 now and I have been stuck on Ovations since I was a kid.
I watched my fahter playing an ovation on stage since I was about 3 years old. He owns it since I was born.
When I was about 11 years old, I grabbed my fathers Ovation and I fell in love with the feeling of it.
I have played many other guitars and never had the same feeling like I had on an ovation. I guess I will always be stuck on them :-) |

I will attend if it coincides with my travel. Maybe can only bring my ukulele with me, but you guys have plenty of great guitars I could play. |

Location: Paris/France | Hi,
I will be so glad to meet all of you!!
But with my job, the web site and my "girlfriend", it's hard to find times to organize a meeting!!!
I live just near Paris.
I like to cook for my friends, i've got 6 O's at home, a vox amp (my neighbours are very "rock"), some good wines in the cellar and my first job was pastry maker!!
So, if you're near from Paris, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be so glad to have you for a dinner. You always be welcome!!
But i just have one bed at home...
So, if you're not a sexy blond woman with nice breasts, i'm sorry but you must sleep at the hotel!!(joke)
More seriously, i'm sure that we will be able to meet us in a next future. Or perhaps can we already register for the next Ovation Factory Tour in 2006!! I've never visited the USA and i'll be so happy to discover the Ovation factory, our Americans friends and the country at the same time!!
It's a great idea isn't it??
Jérôme :) |

| Perhaps we could get a group discount on AirFrance?
I know more cheap hotels in Paris than anywhere in the world. If we can come round to your place and make a noise I'm quite happy to crawl back to a hotel. I'll bring my own Os. As long as we don't have to drink French beer. In fact the words French and Beer should never be seen in the same sentence without the word horsepiss also being involved.... |

Big welcome from New Mexico to a new member from Europe (Germany). I had two younger brothers that were stationed in Germany in the late 50's and loved it, especially the cars (VW's and Mercedes), beer and the places that served it.
Your Ovations sound like a very good deal from what we have heard of overseas (for us) prices.
At my age, I am totally astounded at being able to converse as if we were on the same phone switchboard of the early days. It makes the world seem small, an impression that will dissipate if I try to walk to my local supermarket, the world is still big, it's just that electronics are incredibly fast, but walking is the same as it was 6000 years ago.
Some things never change.
Welcome, and good luck to a continental get together, I would like some of that French food.

Thank you for your kind answers.
I don`t exactly know which model my father plays. As far as I know, it`s a 1980 balladeer or custom balladeer or something like that. But that is just a guess. But definitely no legend or custom legend etc.
Maybe you could help me on this one.
These are my serial numbers:
1866 Legend = 491xx
1567 Legend = 316xx |

Can you give me a little more details about the serial numbers? About the way you analyze them? |

Location: Germany | Hey guys !
I`d like to take the chance to update my little gallery thread here.
Yesterday I got a new baby from the tax department. It is from the US again and I got it really cheap.
I is a 1617 Legend deep bowl, born in 1978.
I love the sound and it is just like the custom balladeer that my father owns since 1980 and which I learned on when I was about 11 years old.
I especially love the "old smell" of the interior of those vintage Ovations, when you put your nose in the soundholes. It may sound silly, but it`s just one of those childhood memories. It is in good condition for its age and it plays fantastic.
Here is is:
Enjoy! See you next time |

I shot a beautiful 1974 Ovation Balladeer in excellent condition without any cracks or so. (the seller says -she`s a female :) )
I`ll add pix soon !
By the way, I cannot find information about a serial number like #0195XX. When has it been made? 1974 or even 1973?
Thx |
