Very sweet Jeff....

bout time the FD-14 came home. Wants to be handled by a man that knows what a woman wants! (sounds like lyrics to a song....must make note to self!)

You never said it was just a loan!

I tried to convert my recording (Angie) to a smaller size/format. I got it down to 12mb, but the quality is so poor it's not worth even sending.

What software did you use to record it?

Most have a final conversion to WAV that you would then convert to MP3. Sounds like maybe your trying to convert the raw data.

using Garageband...admittedly not the premier recording program....

And you may very well be correct about the raw data. Still have much to learn (playing is more a priority than recording).

Schroeder,
I can send the pictures via email...Not sure why they won't open for you.

The Joe Pass award came today...very cool...

and must ask, who was your Portrait painter? I was 10 when that particular piece of renaissance art was commissioned.

Edit: and...
bite me. [Mr. T]

Probably not much different than you and I meeting over a bowl of soup.

(though exposure to the fumes alone could be fatal to we mere mortals)

You're right Stephen. I am a tad disappointed in the collective imagination of this crowd.

Guitars connect us to our very deepest creative nature. Think about it...from the time we consider ourselves human...language, music and humor have been a defining element.

Could also be...
I took my vacation last week and while you and I are doing stuff like invoicing (far as I can tell, Schroeder is a kept man on a short leash) the rest of the OFC is on Holiday.

Guys, the reason nobody else got involved in this thread is that there was no need for anybody else to be involved in this thread. You guys covered it perfectly. All the rest of us had to do was sit back and watch the magic unfold.

Also, it wasn't that intereresting.....

I just always took it for granted that Stephen, Schroeder and "Bongo Boy" were actually one person working furiously to overcome the delirium and schyzephrenic effects of too many Red Bulls. :D  :(

Does anyone know of a standalone freeware WAV to MP3 converter that doesn't suck?

Thanks,
Rick

Joyful,

Don't know of any good freeware but this one works great!
Audio Convertor

They might have a demo version of it but I use it all the time and it is well worth the money.

Don't use it on mine, however.

Thanks Stephen and Waskel, I downloaded the free one and after some playing around it works much better than the one I had.

" schyzephrenic effects of too many Red Bulls. "

I don't indulge in non-alcoholic beverages.

You know, it's the stuff you put in your alcoholoic beverages. Like lime juice. I prefer Bombay Sapphire with just a 'whiff' of lime juice over the top, but hey...you *have* to add non-alcoholic beverages or people just stare. :D
