Today i've received some great documents from the early days of our favorites guitars.
In this lot, there was some nice catalogs and a small piece of paper.
This document is surely my favorite in my small collection.
I think it's a rare piece of Ovation History and i'm very proud to share it with you.
Just look a the pic below.
I was not born in 1966!!! I've open my eyes 13 month and 1 day later...

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | I had posted this same invitation a few months back.I have about three more in their original envelope that were mailed out to dealers in 1966 and returned by the post office back to ovation.I opened a couple and have three more still in unopened envelope.I also have an original program from that evening. It is signed by Josh White.I'll try to find it and post it. |

I still refer to that manual. Best instructions on how restring a guitar, especially nylon string. |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Jerome, the invitations and program are real treasures. The program was autographed to Arnie.Arnie Lansberg owned Lane guitar center in Manchester Ct..Arnie was there the first evening as a guest and told me the story of that evening. He remembered meeting Josh white and what songs he played.Even though i was not there i had a first hand account of that evening.Arnie also remembers a young Bill Kaman visiting his store many times..
Here is the cover of an article about Ovation, July 1967 by Ct. industry.

Working at General Dynamics, (F-111 program, at that time the Air Force, Navy, England, Australia, and I think the Netherlands were going to buy) Turned out to be; too big, too heavy, too vulnerable. Navy never wanted it, Aus. may have bought a few. History lesson over. |

Wow, between you and Calman, I now have connections to my first (F4) and second most favorite (F111) jets! What a small world it's turned out to be. Now, if Schroeder announces he was involved with the Panavia Tornado (GR4 or GR4A, please), I'll have the top three covered. :) |

I think I have some velveta from the late 70's that's still kicking....
....but then all the Sunday pictures I've seen of Schroeder, he hasn't changed since the Sixties. And must have one hell of a kink in his neck |

I don't think you could hurt Velveeta if you cut up with an axe, then burnt it, took and packed C-4 around it and blew it up. :D Would still more than likely be edible. :D |
