Location: Tucson, Arizona | Has anyone had any luck repairing, or having repaired, a molded handle for an Ovation HSC?
The case for my Classic Balladeer (circa 1976) broke in one of the slots connected to the case. I’d like to replace the handle, if possible, but I don’t seem to be able to find one. Has anyone had any luck/experience with this?
(My local luggage shop wants to tear apart the case and replace the handle and connectors, I shudder at them peeling back the velvet and prying the outer case from the inner liner.)
I know I can replace the case, but I’d really like to hang on to it, the case has a few nicks and scratches, but it’s in really good shape.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Look at my Opics. There you find pics of a little project where I installed staplocks on the outside of the case for stap storage/carrying sling style. The handle hinges could be repaired in similar fashion.
pop rivet/gun
drill/bit
hack saw
bastard file
emory cloth
aluminium flat stock
All availible from your local hardware store and neve have to touch the inside of your case. |
