Location: Peoria, Illinois | I may have missed this information, but when will the new contour bowl be offered in other models? I do not want to invest in a new LX if the contour bowl will be comming out soon in other models besides the '05 Collector. |

Location: Tennessee | During the OFC tour (YSBT :) ) it was inadvertently dropped that the contour bowl would be coming on the Custom Legend and Custom Elite starting with summar NAMM, and then make it's way on down the line over time. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | HMMMM.....so that means that the LXs as we currently know them are dead ducks.....and that the mid-bowl Custom Legend and Custom Elite LXs may be very rare(for you collectors out there), since they were just issued six months ago.....

Location: SoCal | What we were told at the factory was that the contoured bowl, the mid depth bowl, and the shallow bowl were Ovations different size bodies (anybody else remember this or do I need to check my meds?). I would guess that guitars will be offered in the contoured bowl and mid depth bowl configuration for the foreseeable future. I don't think the LX, as it is today, is dead at all. It will be just one configuration available from Ovation. |

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | After looking at those pictures from the 2005 tour, I think I may have to contour my bowl.
Stopping on the way back to the hotel in the van for gas at the "Foodmart" Stonebob says "This is a place where you go to buy Cheetos" We didn't know at the hotel, we were going to get paid for playing with pizza.

Location: Tennessee | Note for the record ... stonebobbo bought water and iced tea at the minimart ... but no cheetos (like some others who piled back into the van). ;)
I will however admit to being the first into the wallet for pizza money.
And as the pictures will testify ... I've never met a meal I didn't like.
Can I change my blues name to Fat Boy Slim? |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Passing on the pizza for a moment...thanks, Paul, what you say makes perfect sense. I did find it hard to believe that KMC would issue the Custom Legend and Custom Legend in a mid-bowl LX configuration for less than a year. Only car companies do something that stupid.

Location: SoCal | The presses (molds) for the bowls cost a lot of money. I would guess that the deep and medium bowls are going to be around for a long long time (with the supershallows going overseas). |

Location: Tennessee | During the tour, we learned that the shallow bowls will be making a comeback on some USA models ... apparently there is market demand. Which is good for those who like the comfort of the shallow bowl and play mostly plugged in. Along the same lines, I'm sure that the contour bowl is not for everyone, so NOT keeping the deep, mid and shallow configurations would do a disservice to a great many Ovation players. After all, other manufacturers have orchestras, dreads, jumbos, etc ... |

Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | I am talking to Al about a cutom order and one of the sticking points "may" be the contour bowl option... and that it might throw a wrench in the custom order process, when all else would fly...
I am sort of used to looking at the fingerboard and prefer the deep bowl over the mid bowl... (plus I am thin so the stomach bowl contour FIT is not an issue as it is with some...)
I just thought it would be kewl to have all the bells and whistles on a custom guitar...
Another interesting quirk that came out of the discussion with Al was "Do OFC members get any consideration with custom orders ???"
Al said no, we didn't...
Unrelated to OFC custom orders Al said a recent custom order was turned down for a slot head request... Not what I wanted to hear... Although I could make any flat head into a Slot Head with a jig and my router.

Alright, so I'm the bastard who bought the sun chips on the van. I needed something to hold the beer down.
And, yeah, so...the contour bowl fits me fine, damnit! |

Location: closely held secret | I think I bought Ho-Ho's. All I really remember is wishing people would quit talking to Rick.
I prefer the driver actually face somewhat in the direction the vehicle is traveling...
And yes, the contoured bowl seems to fit my contours just fine. |

Location: SunShine State | Ok I was the one trying to quit smoking and Waskel was tired of my bumming and offered to run in and get me some. However, with shear willpower I beaked a no thanks.
It is a lot easier not to smoke without beers. Still smoking plastic!
Johnny I think the 5 second rule would have gotten more in you and less on the van floor |

Location: Tennessee | We just needed a little somthing to tide us over until we could get back to the hotel and raid the girls soccer team out of their pizza, which was to tide us over until the fresh pizza we ordered was delivered. And yeah, I think Hall was frantically taking notes ... I suspect an even deeper contour bowl on the '06 OFC guitar. |
