I'm out and all the news is good. No major surgery, but a hefty course of radio and chemo therapies. A lousy few months in store, but statistically full recovery is in the 90% range.

Who says good wishes and prayers don't help?

I couldn't believe all the good wishes on the board - Bongo Boy has already apologised for posting it, but I'm glad he did. It was wonderful to come home to.

Thank you all so very much.

Welcome back, Schroeder. Just wasn't the same without you. And rehab may lousy but the other option is probably less inviting, no?

Hope you're back on your feet soon!

The thought of having Jeff run wild without some help keeping him under control was a very sombering thought.

Sounds like you will be around for a while to help out :D AWESOME GOOD NEWS Schroed! You know we are here to help!

Imagine how relieved the sheriffs in those rural Virginia counties must feel.

Schroeder,

Sorry I missed the initial post about your situation, but please know that you have my prayers and best wishes also. Your prognosis sounds excellent. If you feel you need any support from someone who's recently "been there," please feel free to email me privately anytime. I just finished up six months of pretty intense chemotherapy back in March (for stage three colon cancer), so I kinda have a feel for what you're about to embark on. Let me know if I can help. God bless you...

Glad it was a short one. You'll be grand, I'm sure.

Take it easy, and aim for that 100% recovery soon. As a good guy, with faith, and being an O player, the deck seems stacked in your favour.

Jeff W.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes, at least for now I'm doing great. They say five years is the benchmark for declaring someone more or less "cured."

The way I see it, and I don't mean to get preachy, but I truly believe that God's hand has been evident throughout my healing process, so as long as He still has a purpose for me I'm indestructable. And that's true for anybody facing cancer or any other illness. Most folks with colon cancer don't experience symptoms or "warning signs" until it's too late. But in my case, I had a very definite indication that something wasn't right. It was as if the Lord was tapping me on the shoulder saying, "You need to get this taken care of because I'm not through with you yet."

Anyway, this thread is about Schroeder not me, but I did want to say thanks for your concern. I appreciate it.

Jeff

I just got back from 8 days out of town. While working my way up the posts I was sad to hear about Schroeder. Now, a few minutes later I am getting better news.
Schroeder...I'm very glad things are looking better for you. I want to jam with you at the nest OFC Tour. I'll bring the uke.
