Location: Central Massachusetts | So I thought I'd just be babysitting this for a while until AussieJames could find a new home for it. I lived vicariously through Jim's purchase.. cleaning it up, putting a nice setup on it, and running it through it's courses. Reported back to Jim that he got a steal.. it was pretty messed up out of the box but I was able to dial it in quite nicely and it's practically flawless...
That's when he drops the bomb:
David,
We were hoping you would like it, it's yours.
A special Christmas gift to you from the OFC
Merry Christmas my friend. Wow, Merry Christmas, indeed!
A profound thank you to Jim, Mark, and whoever else was in on this. This is hands-down the greatest community on the 'net!
"In prosperity our friends know us; in adversity we know our friends."
It's great to no longer be 'between guitars,' and it's good to have an Eclipse again after having parted with one earlier this year. This one came from Vegas and has some cool custom fixtures -- a metal pick guard, truss rod cover, and knobs. Otherwise, it's all stock and in great condition.
Thank you!
Here's a couple of pics:

It was easy to round up enough donors, starting in your corner and working south and east. I expect lessons, next time I'm over there. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Just to let you all know how generous David is, he's going to put my daughter through physical therapy school by hiring her to babysit for the next 3 years. Right David?
She just finished a weekend babysitting twins and their older brother. It was only supposed to be an evening, but turned out to be 2 days because of the snow in Portland. I'm not sure she'd want that on a regular basis. |
