Do you know what Ovation's policy is on special orders? Specifically, here's what I'm interested in:
I'm thinking about a lefty Balladeer S773 (nylon string). It comes standard with a cedar top. I'm wondering if they would build me one with a AA or AAA spruce top instead, and if so, what would the upcharge be (if any)? Also, would they still build it with the wood rosette (which I really like). Since lefties of this model are special order anyway, would they change the top wood?
Thanks for any information/$$ aamounts (or even educated guesses!). If you need to e-mail me privately, it's pastormike@livingfaithumc.com.
Also, I hope this isn't out of line to post this here...I tried e-mailing Ovation about this, but they're out of the office until August 1.

Location: NJ | well the Ovation special order is a little bit of a mystery to me. I e mail my requests to my conneciton at the factory and some of them he can answer right away others he needs to get approved from Frank Untermyer. Often these orders take longer to get processed.
Can they do it? sure they can do anything. will they do it is another story. Contact your favorite dealer, have them submit a request and see what happens. I do not have any standards concerning Ovation upcharges for specific items.
hope that answered your question |

At least I know it's POSSIBLE...anyone else ever done a change or 'custom order' like this (changing the top wood)?
