ALL Day! Oh and just for HaHa's Wednesday, Christmas Eve is suppose to be Freezing Rain sleet and snow all day. I love New England!

It's 60 here. That means in 2-3 days it will be in the single digits with 4-6" of snow.

Yes, out here in Cornball it's really coming down. The Tahoe loves it. My wife loves it.
Fortunately I have a new guitar and go play that and look forward to buying that tank of gas on the 29th.

Really coming down in Albany now ...
Do you have any extra room in that gas tank for a stow-away, it's too cold up here.

We have 38 degrees and raining. It beats the snow that was forecasted.

I almost prefer the snow. Cold and wet are depressing.

I played at Jeanette's Xmas party last night & rolled-in at about 1am & had t'work today.

I was OH so hoping that it woulda' started snowing THEN so that I could just call-in this morning & say ". . the roads are "treacherous" . . I'm not coming in . ."

But, No.

I wake up to "nothing".
I drag my sorry ass outta' bed & into the office.

At 10:30, it starts t'snow, and EVERYONE is standing by the front door freaking-out & having t'rush home like rats from a sinking ship . . .
By the time I finally left, the roads're filled w/asswipe NONdrivers either crawling at 3mph(w/flashers ablaze) or fishtailing around all over the place.

Least I got t'have a nice phone chat w/Uncah Beal while I was
" . . counting the cars on the NJ Turnpike . ."

Good thing I had some shrimps t'munch on while sitting in traffic.

"Spring" better come on January 2nd, or I'm gonna' be pissed . . .

Clear, sunny and mid 60's here. Sorry about that. But my boy is stranded in the Rochester airport with little hope of getting anywhere in the next 24-36 hours. So I sorta feel your pain.

By the time I type what it's doing here, it's doing something else. We got enough for the ski areas to open, but not enough to have any on the roads down here. Perfect. I'll go home, build a fire, play some guitar, listen to Christmas music and wait for the kids to arrive. Oh, and get AJ paid back. Sorry AJ. I can't seem to think about you when it's snowing outside.

It got up into the 30's here today, but another blast of arctic air is due tomorrow night. Temps around 16 below with a winchill between 30 and 50 below. At least we aren't getting the blizzard that they are predicting for eastern South Dakota.

Just slightly north of the "waist" of New Jersey I have a little more than 6" right now, with more icky stuff due Sunday.
I'm sorry, everyone; it only does this the winters that I get a new car......blame the arrival of the new Subie, I guess.
My commute wasn't quite as aggrevating as Cliff's, but it took me an hour and 10 minutes to go about 20 miles.
I am so glad I don't have to work tomorrow; shovelled a bunch of snow and intend to sleep in (of course, when you get up at 5:30 every day, sleeping in might mean 5:45...)

We just got back from driving around looking at the holiday lights. It's about 6 right now, although it really didn't feel that cold. Supposed to get some more snow this weekend. Hasn't snowed this much in many many years. The storm they had a couple of years ago was the biggest since '89. So this one is a serious record breaker. Kinda nice to look at and play in tho...

I really like living in a place where winter (with snow) is about a week long... it may be two weeks this year. Then it's back to Sunny and brisk... just love it.... oh wait.. that's rainy and grey... yeah... it always rains here, I forgot for a moment.

We can't tell up here on the mountain top, too much wind and it's all blown around. Still coming down now.
AussieJames, it's around 25 here but unfortunately it's NOT centigrade.

Don't get me started on the roads. They don't use salt at all here, which is good for our vehicles and even better for the envionment. So I'm OK with that. BUT, they don't use sand either! They don't even plow unless we get more than four inches. It's the same all over the Hills. They say they are trying to save taxpayer dollars. (BULL!!) When you get to an intersection, you can't stop. When you have to go up a hill, more often than not, you go up sideways. Doesn't matter if it's snow or ice. They don't do ANYTHING except tell people to stay off the roads. I bought chains for my tires. I'd rather my taxes go up than to die on icy roads, and I'd rather tear up the roadway with chains or studded tires than to slam into someone at the next intersection. It's the only thing I hate about living here, and I'm so angry every winter that I swear I will OWN this town if I get in an accident. We pay taxes and get NO services. It all goes toward the mayor's pet projects, like the HUGE, multi-million dollar library they built out of logs, (high upkeep), with giant fireplace, coffee station, and so much empty space they have actually put on concerts there. And now it turns out that the contractor cut corners and this two year old building needs a new roof already!! AARRGH!!!

OK, thanks for letting me vent. I'll go play some banjo and calm down now.

"oh wait.. that's rainy and grey... yeah... it always rains here, I forgot for a moment."

Just don't give away the secret handshake brother!

The house-side thermometer says 24 F with a low last night of 23 and it's fine with me except for something I'll relate in another post.

The high here today is supposed to be 75 F; the low 36 F. The high tomorrow will be 41 F with a low of 26 F. It'll be back in the 60's by Wednesday. You gotta love central Texas.

Winds are about 30-50mph
I've been working on a new tune, G, Am, D, G. I hear a Lucinda Williams kinda voice, something about herion and vodka for breakfast.
At least I get to look forward to a sleigh ride the day after Christmas, it's us and 4 lesbians. Then I get to buy my tank of gas........
