I never owned an ovation but always wanted one. Now that my dream is becoming reality, I am looking for a 12 string ovation and the 6756LX seems to be the perfect choice (on paper). I never tried it because our local guitar stores dont have this model. Basically I want to know what do people think about this guitar. And by the way, I never owned a 12 string before. |

What are your choices in finish or tone (Natural or Elite T in Black)?
There is an EliteT 12 string using LX features as well as the 6756LX which will be beautiful.
I haven't been able to touch either one yet. |

Location: boulder | hi geka,
welcome. I played a 6756 lx at guitar center in colorado. It was a sweet guitar. it played very easy and sounded clean and rich. It played more like a six string and was not very heavy to hold.
it was a while ago, but i recall really liking the tone and sustain. They were asking $1100 and change, but were trying to sell it to me for less, since I looked like someone who buys ovations without hesitation.
it sold within days, and I sort of wonder why I actually didn't buy it, it was worth it. hope this helps. Lost art/vintage instruments might be able to help you acquire one, see link to left. hope this helps peace mike |

I am leaning towards the black finish rather than the natural.
I went to 2 of my local guitar stores and they did not have this model, not even in stock so they have to order it. It takes about 1 to 2 months to arrive and the price is around 1700$US after taxes.
I also found a website http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?SKU=O6756LX5X
where the final price is 1500$US, without the case. This is very suspecious to me because all expensive ovations come with a case.
Anyone had experience with smash.com? Is it worth buying the 6756LX for that kind of money?
Thanks |

Also what is GC. G is for guitar but whjat is C for?
Smash.com dont even offer the ovation case for sale which is even more strange. If the wanted to screw people they would have sold the case separetly, but they dont even have ovation cases. Where do they put them?
Very strange |

Al's one of the den mothers around here. If you are sufficiently obsequious, he'll stay open late for ya ;)
Cause he never closes

Al does not have the 6756LX in stock. It is not a common guitar, that is one of the problems in getting it especially from Montreal Canada. Anyways, I will keep Al in mind. |

Location: Montreal Canada | Today I stopped by a guitar store and played several ovation lx models except the 6756LX, they did not have it either. I really loved how the LX guitars handle themselves. Beautiful finish, amazing sound, very comfortable.
Anyways, I started looking around and found out that there is also a model called 6759 custom legend. Anyone can tell me which one is a better choice between 6756LX and 6759 custom legend. I did not try them.
Thanks |

Aside from those few things, they are the same guitar.
Go to the Ovation website and look at the difference there. |

Location: Montreal Canada | Thanks moody for the input, I already did check the ovation website but it does not go into details. It is only a very short description and I cant decide which one is better. I was asking more for people's opinion, what they thought about those two guitars.
Also does anyone know if the 6756LX comes with an XLR because the 6759 sure does. Thanks. |

Check with Ovation customer service about the XLR question. |

Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | I spoke to KK at the mothership and we both concluded that a 6759LX (legend) does in fact exist at a German website and since 12 string LX's are hard to find and s/o'd anyway that 6759LX could be ordered from the factory as easily as a 6756LX
GEKA check your e-mail...

And they are indeed a ripoff. I visited one of their stores when I was in NYC, and their service was horrible. There wasn't enough space to play, and every guitar was locked so you had to ask to try out something...I'm used to picking up and playing w/e I want on my own...let alone their horrible prices, and nothing ever comes with a case!
A lot of people here don't like GC too much, but at every one I've been in, the service is great and the staff are friendly and let me play whatever I want. |

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | I recently was in the hunt for an LX 12 string. I called Al, he ordered it and I got it within 2 weeks. I know they don't stick around long in music stores, and most on line dealers don't have them in stock. YOu will get the best price from Al. That being said, the LX 12 6756, is a great guitar. It plays like a six string, sounds loud and clear, and looks beautiful, mine is black. I own quite a few guitars and been around long enough to know that this baby is one of the best made guitars, you'll ever find for the money. If you can appreciate the smooth action on a 12, this is it. The LX upgrades make this 12 a winner.

Location: Montreal Canada | Well I got my 6756LX today!
Iwill describe my thoughts in chronological order from the moment the UPS guy delievered the box.
1)Al did a great job packing the guitar and his efforts payed off becasue it was in a mint condition
2) I rip throught the box and get the ovation case out. I am very surprised how light it is, or maybe it is the adrenaline rush.
3)I put the ovation case on my bed and open the lid. The first thing that came to my mind is the smell of the gutiar and the case that was just amazing!
4) I was surprised how beautiful my ovation looked (black) what a great rich colour.
5) When I tuned the guitar and played I was just amazed at the tone and the sound of this beautiful instrument
The rest is too difficult to describe
I have to say that this is an amazing instrument and that it is my first ovation, (I am only 23). Big thanks to Al for the great deal and great job he did. |
