How does "member chat" (a part of member access) works? I've tried several times, but...nothing.

There needs to be someone else there to chat with. Unless you suffer from one of several personality disorders or chemical imbalances.

On occasion we have "chat sessions". I think the last one was about a tear ago. Dave

You just need several log on names and then go at it.

I understand that others have to login too. But I never see other people. It seems to me that this chat-function isn't very populair...

Have you ever just started chatting and see what happens? Personally, at 500 anytime minutes per month, free weekends, and free family plan I can do just fine with my phone. Plus you can hear what people really mean, not just what they think they are trying to say in type. I participated in a few OFC chat sessions and it was OK, but basically the same as posting here just with shorter sentences.

I like them, it's like stepping into a monkey cage and talking about nothing but bananas. Just set a date and I'll be there to talk about my banana, I mean my axe, I mean oh you know...

Years ago I would go into the Metallica chat room on AOL and scream HANSON RULES!. It got the expected response.

Well

You might try posting the following, but I wouldn't recommend it.

"WHO'S STUPID IDEA WAS IT TO PUT A PLASTIC BACK ON A PERFECTLY GOOD AAA SPRUCE TOP?"

It might spark some sort of dialog, probably causing an NC 17 rating for nasty language.

I have tried the chat also, but never could find any body there.

Or why ruin a perfectly good plastic bowl by glueing a wooden top to it ???

Guys, the chances of going to the chatroom and finding anyone there just waiting for someone else to chat with is pretty slim. Plus whoever the hell would be in there just waiting for another member to stumble by would probably not be anyone you'd be interested to chat with anyway. The few times this has worked, it was because some member took the initiative to make a post informing everyone of the time/date and inviting them to join. It's like throwing your own birthday party. If you don't invite anyone, the chances of someone coming to your door at just the right date and time with a wrapped gift in their hands is pretty low.

So...is it worthwhile for Alpep/Miles to investate time in new chatbox-activities..? The general interest isn't that great..

I have no use for the chat arena because:

I can't type fast enough to stay in a line of conversation

I enjoy the format we employ here.

I sometimes compose in Word or Outlook to take advantage of Spell check.

The rhetoric in a chat room tends to encourage flaming and negative behavior.

u not always get down w/the speak of the hb's and bettys in da cribs wen they type speak LOL, WTF, TTFN
